Ask the questions - your safety should come first. 🤍

⚠️SAFETY IN BEAUTY ALERT
Healthcare professionals in Leeds have reportedly identified suspected cases of botulism allegedly linked to Botox injections carried out at a clinic called Iconic Face in Leeds.
This is an evolving situation, but it serves as an important reminder to always choose qualified, insured, and medically trained practitioners for aesthetic treatments.
Please seek urgent medical advice if you experience symptoms such as:
• Difficulty swallowing
• Slurred speech
• Facial weakness
• Blurred or double vision
• Breathing difficulties
Your safety should always come before cost or convenience.
✔️ Check practitioner credentials
✔️ Ask about the products being used
✔️ Ensure treatments take place in safe clinical settings
✔️ Report concerns to relevant health authorities
Awareness saves lives. Please share responsibly and follow official public health guidance for updates.

Happy International Nurses Day 💚

18 years in since I qualified. Nursing taught me compassion, resilience, accountability, and the power of really listening - values I bring into my clinic.

Although my path has evolved into aesthetics, the foundation remains the same: clinical assessment, safe practice, and patient care.

As aesthetic nurses, we are still registered nurses - using our skills, judgement, and compassion in every consultation and every treatment.

To my fellow nurses everywhere: thank you for the care you give when no one’s watching. You are extraordinary.

With love,
Cath | Registered Nurse

Let me cut through the noise for you, because I get asked about this all the time, and I know you’re seeing it on every other influencer post now (“my skin transformed in a week!” etc) 👀

Here’s the truth:

Collagen supplements are NOT a magic anti-ageing fix. They do not replace basic skincare or treatments.

When you take them, your body breaks them down into amino acids - then uses them wherever it needs.

So it’s not:
“Take collagen → goes straight to your face”

It’s:
“Take collagen → building blocks → body decides what to do with them”

Some studies show small improvements in skin hydration and elasticity with consistent use (8–12+ weeks), particularly with hydrolysed (broken down, easier to absorb) collagen… but results are subtle and not comparable to in-clinic treatments.

Also - your body needs the basics to even start to make collagen:
Vitamin C, enough protein, and overall good nutrition.
Without that, you’re already on the back foot.

So before spending £££, focus on what’s actually proven to work:

✔️ SPF (prevents collagen breakdown)
✔️ Medical-grade skincare
✔️ Treatments that stimulate collagen (microneedling / skin boosters)
✔️ A consistent, protein-rich diet

If you still want to take collagen as a little bonus - that’s fine. Just manage your expectations.

What matters more than the brand:

• Hydrolysed collagen (easier to absorb)
• Adequate dose (around 2.5–10g daily)
• Consistency (weeks, not days)
• Vitamin C intake
• Overall protein

“Hydrolysed” just means it’s been broken down so your body can absorb it — it doesn’t mean it targets your skin.

There are loads on the market… some better than others.

But my key message here is that…
> no supplement replaces the basics <

Focus on what actually works.

As always… Finesse over hype 🤍
