Stop and think: What jobs do you expect disabled or neurodivergent people to do for work? 🧠✨

Often, the world sees "support needs" as a barrier to being a "provider." I’m here to tell you that’s a myth.

I am a self-employed business owner.
I am a Microprovider (support worker).
And I have my own support needs. These layers don’t conflict—they coexist. Having my own support in place is exactly what allows me to show up and support others effectively. It’s an ecosystem, not a one-way street.

I truly believe that with the right environment and the right tools, disabled and neurodivergent people can thrive in any field they choose.

Do you see the "layers" in your own work life? Let’s talk about it in the comments. 👇

If you have a disability, navigate a neurodivergent brain, or have survived hard things, you’ve spent your whole life solving problems. 🧩

You’re an expert at finding ways through a world that wasn't built for you.

So, when a company or a group asks you to "share your story" to help them be better, remember this: You are helping them do their job.

They aren't just "listening." They are taking your hard-earned survival skills and using them to fix their mistakes. That isn't just a chat—it’s work. 🛠️

It’s time we stop calling it "sharing" and start calling it expertise.

ID: a person with short red hair, tinted glasses, a lip and nose piercing, wearing a tie dye top, and has a closed mouth smirking expression.
The caption in a speech bubble says "living experience doesnt equal free labour". The back ground is white and the boarder is teal.

Autism is for life, not just for April!

I really appreciate that we have awareness days.

But it's important to remember, that autism isn't temporary. It's 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Our acceptance and belonging needs to be advocated for always.

What other awareness days need to be recognised all year round?

On their fingers, the word "HOPE" is tattooed in individual letters. Above them is a speech bubble containing the text: "Autism Acceptance isnt just for April"

Same offering, new look!👀

I'm boosting my services with a fresh poster, but NOT a fresh offering.

But, what makes my services different?

Having first-hand, overlapping lived experiences and advice to share on topics where specialised training may be required:

•ACE's
•Postpartum Psychosis
•Medical Trauma
•Late Diagnosed Autism
•Mental Health Challenges
•Chronic Illness

My insights will always remain, and I hope you'll join me on the journey to deeper accessibility, beyond the audits.

Confession time: I thought I knew what self-employment looked like, but I definitely didn’t realize I was hiring a 10-person team… and they were all ME! 😅

As a neurodivergent business owner, taking off the rose-tinted glasses was a wake-up call. It’s not just doing the work you love; it’s suddenly being:

-The Manager & Employee
-The Accountant
-The Policy Writer
-The Training Coordinator
-The Marketing Team

It’s a lot of hats for one brain to wear! 🎩 To anyone thinking of taking the leap: be prepared for the "everything else." I’ve loved every second of this journey, but I wish I’d known just how many roles I’d be auditioning for on day one.

Who else is out here wearing all the hats today? Let’s swap stories in the comments! 👇

The graphic has a thin teal boarder and a white background. The graphic has a thin teal boarder and a white background.

But... I have a job. 🥺 And I have volunteered at my local animal shelter. And I am in school. And I do social media, which is a lot of work, and very hard to do. 💜
Why do people think it is okay to say this to disabled people? 😕 It is very ableist and very rude. Some people can not work, and that is ok! It would be fine if I did not have a job! It is ok if you do not have one, or if you need a lot of help like I do!💜💜💜
I was very lucky to find work that accommodates my needs. It is very very hard for me, and I am doing my best. Whatever you can do is ok. You do not have to listen to people who do not understand. 💜💜💜

Any fashion advice? 😂

I struggle with weather changes. Arthritis worse in the winter, Fibromyalgia worse in the summer.... POTS all year round 🙃

I wear compression socks to help with symptoms, but the annoying thing about warm weather, I can't hide them when I wear shorts.....

If I layer up, the internal thermostat says NOOOOOO!

And don't get me started on how this affects my sensory processing differences🫥

ID: A graphic of CeeJae, with shoulder length red hair, and a sad expression on her face, sat on a black desk chair with her legs crossed, pointing at her leg, which has a black compression sock on.
She is also wearing a green and white horizonal striped top and black shorts.
The boarder of the graphic is a plain teal colour, and the background is white.

I'd love to see a picture of your plushie pals in the comments!🧸

I bring a teddy with me, pretty much everywhere I go, and this is why:

•They help me to keep my mind occupied with the different textures and shapes, when my mind goes a bit fast

•Helps to regulate big feelings and keep myself grounded

The fact that they are considered a reasonable adjustment (which I too didnt know until the lasy few weeks) gives me so much confidence to take them with me everywhere.

ID: graphic of ceejae who has shoulder length red hair and is wearing a navy tshirt. she is holding a few of her favourite teddies, including two mushrooms. a goose and a bunny hugging a small dog toy. there is a quote in a speech bubble above her that says "teddies are my reasonable adjustment". the graphic has a teal/blue boarder and has a white background.
