A beautiful blue and white vase inspired by precious memories 💖

Why do we always see so many vases in just blue and white? Porcelain has to be fired at a very high temperature, and most pigments just burn away or require lots of extra steps to make it through the firing process. The blue pigment most commonly used, originally applied by hand under the glaze, is cobalt oxide. This is one of the only pigments that can withstand the high temperatures required. This method has been being used for thousands of years. Originally in Iraq from around the 9th century.

In a world moving so quickly into new technologies, it’s nice to appreciate things that have been around for so long, and not really changed that much since they began.

This was my last tattoo of 2025, but it felt right to post it now as the Lunar New Year was this week. Massive thank you to Rhiannon for coming in to get this done, it was a pleasure to create this for you! 🧚🏻‍♀️💖🍄🔮

Due to some stuff outside work I will only have availability from 9am-1pm on the 19th of July. Because of this, I will also be offering these designs at flash day prices all day on the 18th as well.

They are repeatable, and arms and legs only!
