Go foraging

It's great

It's also bloody messy!

They don't tell you that in these fancy influencer reels 🤣

Today's forage

Nature has been generous...

St John's Wort
Yarrow
Oxeye Daisy
Purple Loosestrife
Rosebay Willowherb
Nettle (and seeds)
Mugwort
Valerian
Meadowsweet
Yellow Sweet Clover
Pineapple W**d
Mullein

Every one of these wild plants has a long history of traditional medicinal use. I'm slowly building my own little herbal apothecary, learning to identify, harvest and preserve them with respect for the land that provides them.

Which of these is your favourite medicinal herb?

Who else talks to their pet? What do you talk about?

My cat is my emotional support animal, although she is pretty rubbish in a crisis and tends to bog off 🤣

She brings me a lot of joy and comfort regardless.

She often jumps up on the massage couch during a reiki session and gives my clients cat therapy.

During dreadlock appointments she will often attack my clients feet then jump on their laps for the session.

She is such a character!

I feel like crap today and I have brain fog.

I still had to take the woofers out and it was worth it....it was cold, misty, magical and beautiful.

You see all sorts floating in the canal.....I once saw a giant rubber duck! 😂

This is the collection of random things I saw on my very short but wet cruise this morning.....

Walking in nature is good for you for so many reasons. Here are five of my favourites:

1. Nature regulates the nervous system — trees, water, wind and birdsong gently bring us out of fight-or-flight

2. Green spaces improve focus, mood and emotional resilience — ancient medicine backed by modern science

3. Natural light supports sleep cycles, hormone balance and energy levels

4. Touching soil, bark or stone reconnects us with something solid when we feel scattered or ungrounded

5. Walking on the land helps thoughts untangle and emotions move instead of stagnate

As a Priestess, I see nature not as an escape, but as a co-regulator and quiet teacher. We have become so disconnected from nature that many of us have forgotten that we ARE nature.

Follow me for more tips on healing, a glimpse into my life onboard my boat and along the canal and to learn how to change your life from one of stagnation and boredom to one that is extraordinary!

In my happy place......climbing trees and foraging.

I have been in Bristol this weekend so I took the opportunity to visit some of my favourite trees and found a new friend for climbing .... A beautiful redwood cedar with branches winding round it like a staircase. She gifted me some branches to make some cleaning spray for my home.

I went to visit the Elder I have been working with for several years now. She is not in the best of health and it's sad that she is dying. However she gifted me some jelly ears which are mainly found growing on dead Elders so I took some and tonight I will make a noodle soup with them.

I also went to visit my favourite oak and removed the ribbons tied to the branches.
They were synthetic/plastic ribbons and the magic won't work with these.
The traditional way of wishing on a tree is to tie a clootie (a ribbon/piece of fabric/grass/hair/vine) on a branch that will biodegrade over time.
The magic happens as the clootie rots away. Tying synthetic ribbons and fabric is littering and bad for the trees and the environment. Anything fabric needs to be made from 100% cotton, h**p, bamboo, wool or real silk.
I found some ribbons had become so embedded that the tree was growing over them. I removed as much as I could.

Dark night of the soul

A time of shedding what no longer serves you

A death

A rebirth

It hurts

It's messy

It can be scary

It can lead you into a pit of despair where old thought and behaviour patterns resurface. Deep wounds that you thought you had healed can be reopened and feel as painful as they did when they were created.

This is where I have been over the darkest months of the year.  I had to step away from social media and have let my work slide as I sat with deep grief and pain.

It has been dark.

It has been scary.

It has been ugly.

It has been beautiful.

It has been necessary.

I am thankful for the support I have received from my love, my wombniverse and my therapist.

I am thankful I live in nature, for being able to seek solace in the woods and from the river.

I am finally climbing out of the pit.

Tentatively I am emerging, raw and tender.

I am rising yet again like a pheonix from the ashes.

Moving your body isn't just exercise, it's medicine as well, and here are 4 reasons  why dancing is good for you....

1. It changes your brain chemistry
by releasing endorphins, dopamine, serotonin, and oxytocin. These are the feel-good chemicals that reduce stress and boost your mood.

2. It helps you to process your emotions Emotions live in your body. When you move, you release tension and stuck energy.

3. It regulates your nervous system  Rhythmic movement helps shift you out of fight-or-flight. Dancing can calm your breathing, soften your body, and ground you.

4. It strengthens your body and increases fitness levels.
Dance can increase flexibility, balance, and help with coordination. It also supports your  heart and circulation.

You don't have to 'good' at dancing. You just need to move your body in a way that feels good for you!
