Applying for jobs can be frustrating, but understanding what makes a strong application can help you get through shortlisting and into the interview room.

So you asked, we answered! Why am I not getting an interview? If you're thinking about applying for a role at BFT, give yourself the best chance of being shortlisted with our application tips.

All applications are anonymised for shortlisting, so managers only see the qualifications, employment history and supporting information you submit. Completing all sections fully and providing relevant examples gives managers the best opportunity to assess your suitability against the criteria.

AI is a great tool, but it can sometimes make applications sound formulaic. Managers want to understand the person behind the application, so if you use AI to support your writing, make sure your application still reflects your own experience and achievements.

The person specification is a great insight into what the manager is looking for. Use it to shape your supporting information and demonstrate how you meet the criteria with relevant personal examples.
