Su***de is a major public health challenge, claiming the lives of more than 720 000 people every year. Each life lost has profound social, emotional, and economic consequences, deeply affecting families, friends, workplaces, and entire communities around the world.

Today marks the third World Su***de Prevention day.

At Orange Tree we work with schools, businesses and individuals supporting the education, understanding and 1:1 sessions for those in need.

Sometimes self-care looks like slowing down long enough to make yourself something colourful, fresh and nourishing.

Just as our bodies thrive on fruit, seeds and wholesome foods, our minds thrive on moments of kindness, rest, connection and creativity. One without the other is only half the story.

Mental wellbeing isn’t always about making huge changes. Sometimes it’s choosing to pause, breathe, step outside into the sunshine, and give yourself what you need today.

Be gentle with yourself.
Fuel your body.
Feed your soul.
Both deserve your care. 🧡

What has nourished you today—body or mind?

🌈 Today, as Bristol celebrates Pride, we’re reminded that inclusivity isn’t about ticking a box or using the right words. It’s about creating environments where people feel psychologically safe enough to be themselves.

At Orange Tree, we know that our mental wellbeing is deeply connected to one fundamental human need: belonging.

When people feel accepted, understood and valued, they are more likely to thrive. They experience lower levels of stress, greater resilience, stronger self-esteem and healthier relationships. Conversely, feeling excluded, judged or forced to hide parts of who we are can have a profound impact on our mental health.

Inclusivity isn’t about treating everyone the same. It’s about recognising that each person’s experiences are different and creating space where those differences are respected, celebrated and supported.

Whether that’s embracing neurodiversity, supporting LGBTQ+ communities, respecting different cultures, acknowledging disability, or simply choosing curiosity over judgement, every act of inclusion tells someone:

“You belong here.”

And those four words can change lives.

At Orange Tree, we believe mental health flourishes in communities where people don’t have to mask, shrink or apologise for who they are. Our role isn’t to change people to fit the world; it’s to help create a world where people can show up as their authentic selves.

Today, and every day, choose kindness over assumption, listening over judgement, and connection over division.

Because when everyone belongs, everyone has the opportunity to flourish.

Happy Bristol Pride. 🌈🧡

Sometimes looking after our mental health starts with creating small moments where we can slow down, check in with ourselves, and notice what we need.

Life can feel busy, overwhelming, and full of expectations — but support is available. Whether you’re navigating stress, anxiety, relationships, parenting challenges, confidence, or simply feeling like things are becoming too much, you don’t have to figure it all out alone.

At Orange Tree, we offer compassionate support for young people, parents, families, schools, and organisations — helping people understand themselves, build connection, and move forward.

Inclusion is more than a flag. It’s how we show up for each other every day.

At Orange Tree, we believe that everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, valued and accepted for who they are. Regardless of age, race, culture, religion, disability, neurodiversity, gender identity, sexual orientation, family background, beliefs, or life experiences, every person matters.

Acceptance doesn’t mean we all think the same, live the same, or see the world in the same way. It means creating space for differences without judgement. It means listening with curiosity rather than criticism. It means recognising that diversity enriches our communities and strengthens our connections.

Tolerance is often where inclusion begins. It’s the willingness to respect another person’s right to be themselves, even when their experience differs from our own. But true inclusion goes a step further — it invites belonging, understanding and compassion.

As we move through Pride Month, and celebrate the many colours, voices and stories that make up our communities, we’re reminded that everyone deserves a place where they feel safe to be authentic.

At Orange Tree, that’s what we strive to offer every day — a welcoming, supportive space where people can explore, grow, heal and thrive without fear of judgement.

Because when people feel accepted, they flourish. 🍊🧡

Mental Health Awareness Week – Day 7 🌿

Healing doesn’t always look dramatic.

Sometimes it looks like:✨ getting out of bed when it felt impossible✨ setting a boundary without guilt✨ asking for help✨ taking a breath instead of reacting✨ trying again after a difficult day

Small steps are still progress.

At Orange Tree, we believe emotional wellbeing grows through compassion, connection, and feeling safe enough to be yourself. Real growth happens when people feel supported, not judged.

Whether you’re navigating anxiety, stress, parenting challenges, low self-worth, neurodiversity, emotional overwhelm, or simply feeling stuck — you deserve support that feels human, warm, and understanding.

Our aim is to create a space where people feel seen, valued, and empowered to grow through what they are facing 🌱

Mental health awareness is not just for one week. It’s an ongoing reminder that your wellbeing matters every single day.

And no matter where you are in your journey, change is possible 🧡

If you’re ready to take the first step, Orange Tree is here to walk alongside you.

Mental Health Awareness Week – Day 6 🌿

You do not have to struggle alone.

Sometimes the hardest part of healing is reaching out. So many people carry anxiety, overwhelm, sadness, burnout, or emotional exhaustion quietly — smiling on the outside while feeling lost on the inside.

At Orange Tree, we see the person behind the struggle 🧡

We know that life can feel heavy at times. Whether you’re a parent trying to hold everything together, a young person feeling misunderstood, or someone simply exhausted from carrying too much for too long — support matters.

Therapy isn’t about having all the answers.
It’s about having a safe space to breathe, reflect, feel heard, and begin to move forward at your own pace.

Through compassionate counselling, emotional wellbeing support, parent guidance, and practical tools, Orange Tree is here to help you feel more connected, understood, and empowered.

You deserve support too 🌱

If this post speaks to you, maybe this is your reminder that you don’t have to do it all by yourself anymore.

Reach out. We’re here when you’re ready 🧡

Day 5 - Some days, the world can feel loud, overwhelming, or too much.
When that happens, grounding yourself in the familiar can help bring you back to the present moment 🌿

A favourite song.
A comforting smell.
A safe place.
A familiar voice.
The feel of a soft blanket.
The taste of your favourite tea.

Grounding isn’t about “fixing” how you feel — it’s about gently reminding your mind and body that you are here, now, and safe.

Try using your senses to reconnect:
✨ What can you see?
✨ What can you hear?
✨ What can you touch?
✨ What can you smell or taste?

Sometimes healing starts with the smallest comforts — the things that make you feel known, calm, and connected.

You don’t have to carry everything all at once. One breath, one song, one safe moment at a time 🧡

Day 4 — Mental Health Awareness Week 💚

Green is the colour of growth. Of fresh starts. Of breathing space. Of nature reminding us that healing takes time.

When life feels overwhelming, the smallest moments of calm matter — a walk outside, the sound of trees moving, sunlight through leaves, the quiet reminder that we are part of something bigger.

Mental health is not about feeling positive all the time. It’s about allowing yourself space to pause, feel, recover, and grow in your own way.

Be gentle with yourself today 🌿
