Do you know exactly how much each treatment costs your clinic?
It’s not just the product itself. You also need to account for practitioner time, consumables, room costs, marketing, administration and every other expense involved in delivering that appointment.
Once you understand the true cost, pricing decisions become much easier. You can identify which treatments are genuinely profitable, which ones need reviewing and where your margins may be disappearing.
Your clinic can have a busy diary and still lose money if your pricing doesn’t reflect the complete cost of providing each treatment.
These numbers are critical. If you’re not sure how to work them out, drop me a message and let’s look at them together.

The advice that helped you start your clinic may not be the advice that helps you scale it.

In the beginning, the focus is often on gaining visibility, building your reputation and reaching your first financial goals. But once your clinic has grown, the challenges change.

Reaching the next level requires more than repeating what worked before. It means reviewing your foundations, adapting your approach and introducing the right systems and automations so the business can grow without everything continuing to depend on you.
If you’re ready to scale but you’re unsure what needs to change, reach out to me. Let’s build the right strategy together.

Hiring another practitioner can feel like the obvious next step when your clinic is growing, but being busy doesn’t automatically mean you’re ready to expand your team.

Before making that decision, consider three things:
Are you genuinely at capacity, or could your existing diary and rooms be used more effectively?
Will another practitioner actually increase sales, or simply add more costs?
Do the numbers work once you include salary, commission, accountant fees and the potential need for another treatment room?
Growth should create more freedom and stability, not tie you even more tightly to your business.
If you’re thinking about growing your team, tell us what stage your clinic is at. What’s the biggest question stopping you from making that next hire?

Procrastination doesn’t always mean you’re lazy.

Sometimes you’re simply too close to everything.

When you’re running a business, there are constantly decisions to make,
problems to solve and things that need your attention. Even when you’re
motivated and working long hours, it’s easy to become overwhelmed, get
stuck on what to do next and eventually feel burnt out.

That’s where having the right mentor can make such a difference.

Someone outside of the day-to-day can help you see things more clearly,
decide what actually needs your attention and break those big,
overwhelming goals into manageable steps you can actually implement.

Because sometimes you don’t need to work harder. You need clarity,
direction and someone beside you helping you move forward.

And if you’ve been putting something off for weeks because it all feels
like too much, be a little kinder to yourself. You might not need more
motivation. You might just need the right support.

A real privilege to be invited back onto BBC Radio’s Wake Up to Money 🎙️

I was honoured to join the discussion around money, the UK economy and interest rates, sharing my perspective and expertise from the frontline of running and growing businesses in the UK.

These conversations are exactly why I do what I do.

After 15 years in senior business management and years of building and scaling businesses in the medical aesthetics sector, I’ve experienced first-hand the challenges businesses face when the economic landscape changes — from rising costs and interest rates to consumer confidence, cash flow and growth.

Through The Invisible Business Partner, I bring that real-world experience directly to business owners — helping them make better decisions, understand their numbers, build stronger businesses and ultimately create a business that works for them.

Being a regular voice on BBC Radio, discussing the issues affecting UK businesses and the wider economy, is something I’m incredibly proud of.

And it’s a great reminder that real business experience matters.

How many times have you told yourself:

“I’ll look at the numbers next week.”
“I’ll finally send those emails.”
“I’ll put that new process in place.”

The intention is there. But then patients, your team, admin and everything else
that comes with running a clinic takes over.

And suddenly another week has passed.

That’s where accountability can make such a difference.

Having someone outside of your business who knows what you’ve committed to,
expects you to follow through and is willing to ask the difficult questions can be
exactly what turns a goal into something that actually gets done.

It’s a little like having a personal trainer. You might not always feel like showing
up, and sometimes being challenged can feel uncomfortable, but knowing
someone is there to keep you on track makes it much harder to keep putting
things off.

Because setting the goal is only the beginning.

The real change happens when you consistently follow through on it.

If you keep moving the same business goals from one week to the next, it doesn’t
mean they’re not important to you. Sometimes you simply need the structure and
accountability to finally give them the attention they deserve.

When you’ve built your business from the ground up, being objective about it isn’t
always easy.

Every decision you’ve made to get to this point carries something with it. The good
decisions, the difficult ones, the challenges you’ve overcome and the ways of
working you’ve become used to.

So when something isn’t working, it can be surprisingly hard to see exactly what
needs to change or even know where to start.

And that’s completely natural.

Sometimes having someone outside of the business makes all the difference.
They’re not looking at things through the history or emotional attachment you
have. They can look at what’s happening now, ask the questions you might not be
asking yourself and help you identify the steps that will actually move things
forward.

It’s not about someone coming in and telling you everything you’ve done is wrong.

It’s about having a fresh perspective, accountability and support to help you
take your business to its next stage.

If you feel like you’re too close to your business to know what needs to change,
you don’t have to work it all out alone. Sometimes another perspective is exactly
what brings the clarity you’ve been looking for.

When you’re inside your business every single day, being completely objective
about it is harder than you might think.

You can look at your diary and see gaps.
You can look at your marketing and see what performed well.
You can see that something isn’t giving you the results you expected.

But understanding why it’s happening is a different story.

There are so many moving parts in a clinic that it’s easy to make decisions based
on what we think is happening rather than what’s actually driving the results.

That’s where an outside perspective can be incredibly valuable. Someone with
experience can often spot patterns, identify what’s influencing your results and
help you focus on the things you can actually control.

Because as a business owner, you need a level of predictability. Not only around
revenue and profit, but your costs, what you can take from the business and what
it ultimately allows you to create for yourself and your family.

You don’t need to have every answer yourself. Sometimes seeing your business
through a fresh pair of eyes is exactly what helps everything become clearer.

If things in your business have felt a little unpredictable lately, it might be worth
asking yourself: am I making decisions from the numbers, or from guesswork?

If your patients are booking one treatment here, another treatment there and simply
coming back whenever they remember, it creates uncertainty for everyone.

For the patient, there’s no clear pathway of what comes next.

For you as a clinic owner, it makes your diary and future revenue much harder to
predict.

That’s where multi-treatment plans can make such a difference.

Instead of thinking about one appointment at a time, look at the patient’s overall
goals. What treatments could work together? In what order? How much time should
there be between them? And can those appointments be planned and booked in
advance?

It gives your patients a much clearer journey while creating more consistency and
longer-term value for your clinic.

And it doesn’t have to feel like you’re pushing patients to spend more. When the plan
is genuinely right for them, you’re simply giving them clarity around how to reach
the result they came to you for.

If your diary sometimes feels unpredictable, it may be worth looking beyond the next
appointment and thinking about the whole patient journey.

26/08/2026

Running a business can feel incredibly lonely, especially when every decision seems
to come back to you.

That’s one of the biggest reasons having a business mentor can be so valuable.

It’s not about having someone tell you how to run your business. It’s about having a
partner who can look at it objectively, challenge you when you need it and help turn
the goals in your head into something you can actually implement.

Because we all have plans for where we want our businesses to go. But then patients,
teams, admin and everyday life happen… and suddenly those bigger goals keep
getting pushed further down the list.

A mentor can help you prioritise, create structure, put the right processes in place
and, importantly, keep you accountable for actually following through.

Sometimes the biggest difference isn’t having more ideas. It’s having someone
beside you who helps make sure the right ideas actually happen.

And if running your business sometimes feels like you’re carrying every decision on
your own, remember that getting support doesn’t make you any less capable. It can
give you the space and perspective you need to build the business you actually want.
