Laser kills hair during the anagen stage, so only around 15 percent of the hair will be present in this phase at the time of a laser session. Hence why multiple sessions are needed.

This means that around 15 - 20% of hair follicles will be destroyed after each treatment. Those hairs will begin to shed about 7-14 days following treatment or typically begin to not grow at all.

Why does the cycle matter? 🥼

- Hair will only respond to the laser during the anagen phase because that is the phase where the hair follicle itself is in connection with the blood supply.

- The energy from the laser hair removal wavelengths are attracted to the melanin (pigment) in the hair and heats the hair, its follicle and the blood supply.
