New research has revealed the cost of the UK’s fast food habit – with 60% of people spending up to £50 a week on takeaways and convenience food.

Our survey of 2,000 UK adults showed that 47% of people believe they’d save a significant amount of money by cutting back – yet one in five people don’t feel confident in cooking from scratch 💔. Those that do cook at home report huge benefits though – with 46% saving money and 40% feeling healthier 🤗.

When it comes to Slimming World members, 88% reported spending up to £100 a week on takeaways before they joined. Since joining, the story is totally different with 39% of respondents saying they’ve cut out takeaways completely… by opting for healthy fakeaways instead, they’re saving a potential £5,000 a year 🤯.

Imagine waking up on 1st January having started (or resetting from now) Slimming World 3 months previous, having got as much support as you need through all the Christmas celebrations, New Year celebrations and everything that goes with that, 1 Stone lighter (or more!). Just imagine how that would feel, how you would feel and how it would set you up for continued success in 2026!
