MYTH 2 : e-Bikes are a modern invention

e-Bikes are not, contrary to popular belief, a modern invention – actually, they have been around since the late 19th Century! Why not discover the joys of this late 19th Century invention for yourself?

There is ONE REMAINING 'FREE-TO-HIRE' e-BIKE AVAILABLE for joining the e-Bike Ride this Saturday 28 August, and one place left on the ride for someone who wants to join the ride and owns their own e-Bike.

How about some fun? Let's explode some myths about e-Bikes.(MYTH = a widely held, but false, belief).

MYTH ONE : e-Bikes are cheating.

FACT: e-Bikes have motors that provide assistance while you ride. HOWEVER, you only receive this assistance if you’re pedalling – so they’re definitely not 'cheating'! e-Bikes are not mopeds.

In fact, that 'added assistance' makes cycling more accessible to people who would otherwise struggle to ride. It's been shown that people ride further and faster on an e-Bike than on a regular pedal bike, which actually helps people get fitter.

The race will start in the new town of Sherford (outside Plymouth) and go around the South Hams then up to Tavistock, across Dartmoor and finish in the city of Exeter. Weather looking ok for this coming Sunday morning's cycle ride from South Brent to Ashburton via Buckfastleigh! Moderate temperature, slightly overcast, with a small chance of rain (10%). The cycle ride is nearly fully booked, with only 1 place remaining. We cannot wait!
