✨ One of the biggest mindset shifts on this journey… ✨

Be kind.
Just keep going 💛

I didn’t gain weight overnight.
And I’m learning that healthy, lasting change doesn’t happen overnight either.

For years, I’d approach weight loss with an “all or nothing” mindset.

I could stick to restrictive diets for a little while…
until life got stressful, emotions took over, or things didn’t go perfectly.

Then I’d end up right back where I started.

What I’m slowly learning now is that this journey is about so much more than just food.

It’s about habits.
Mindset.
Self-talk.
Stress.
Routine.
And learning how to take care of yourself even on the messy days.

Because perfection was never the answer for me.

Consistency, kindness, support, and simply not giving up?
That’s what’s changing things this time 🌺

And if any of this sounds like you…
if you’re tired of starting over, doing it alone, or feeling stuck in that all-or-nothing cycle…

You’d be so welcome at my group 💛

✨ WHAT I EAT IN A DAY ✨

Following Essentially Slimming World 🌺
And this is the best part… it never feels like a diet 🫶🏼

Real food. Family-friendly meals. Plenty of flavour. And meals that actually keep me full 🙌🏼

It looked like this 👇🏼
🌺 Hot-smoked salmon on toast
🌺 Greek-style vegetable couscous
🌺 Lemon & cumin chicken traybake
No skipping meals.
No tiny portions.
No “starting again Monday.”

Just learning how to enjoy food differently while still working towards feeling healthier, happier, and more confident 💛
This is exactly why I love this way of eating so much — it fits into real life ✨

A slower day at home for us today 🤍

It isn’t always days out and big adventures over here. So much of our learning, connection, and joy comes from the ordinary little moments at home… and honestly, I think those are the moments that matter the most.

This morning started with the children making French toast together 🍓

Cracking the eggs, dipping the bread, frying it off, and then creating their own fruit and berry masterpieces on top. It would probably look like a simple breakfast morning to some people, but for me it’s so much more than that.

It’s confidence building.
It’s creativity.
It’s conversations.
It’s learning life skills.
It’s slowing down enough to actually be present with each other.

And one thing I absolutely love about the way we live now, and also what Slimming World has brought into our lives, is that food feels positive, exciting, colourful, and connective instead of stressful or restrictive.

We’re having a slower morning today because this afternoon we’ll be back in the kitchen again making dinner — actually cooking two meals so I can batch some portions away for those busier days when life feels a little fuller.

Future me is always grateful for that 😂

This way of living has taught me that healthy eating doesn’t have to look perfect or complicated. Sometimes it simply looks like real life… children learning to cook, fruit-covered fingers, conversations around the kitchen, and meals that nourish all of us in more ways than one

Progress isn’t always loud.

Sometimes it’s:
✨ pausing before a binge
✨ drinking water first
✨ going to bed instead
✨ starting again at the next meal

That counts too ❤️

I think one of the biggest misconceptions about weight loss is that suddenly healthy choices become effortless.

For me?
Not always 😅

Sometimes the old habits still whisper.

But now I understand them instead of automatically following them.

And honestly, that’s where real change happened for me.

Not perfection.
Not restriction.
Not “being good.”

Just slowly learning to look after myself better ❤️

Did you know that positive emotions such as excitement and celebration can trigger overeating as well as negative emotions like stress and sadness?

Join Anna and Clare as they discuss this and explore coping strategies – as suggested by 3,000 Slimming World members! Today they're joined by Gemma Traviss-Turner, an Associate Professor of behavioural medicine from the University of Leeds with some brand-new research freshly presented at this year's European Congress on Obesity.

“Some habits were built over decades. Of course they take time to unlearn.”

24/05/2026

One thing I really hope my children grow up with…

is confidence in the kitchen ❤️

Not because I expect perfection.
Not because every meal has to be organic or homemade.

But because learning to cook is such an important life skill.

Knowing how to feed yourself.
Understanding what keeps your body full and fuelled.
Feeling comfortable around food instead of fearful of it.

Some of my favourite moments are all of us cooking together in the kitchen, even when it’s noisy and chaotic 😅

Because these little moments?
They’re building habits that will stay with them for life.
