🍂 September. Back to school. Back to you. 💛

A new season. A fresh quarter. A fresh opportunity to put YOU first.

Tonight in group, we're having a Refresh Session!

We're looking at what Food Optimising 100% really means, what it takes to achieve a steady loss, and giving ourselves a little honest self-check.

No judgement. No guilt. Just support, inspiration and a fresh start.

Whether you're already on your journey, you've lost your way a little, or you've been thinking about starting...

Come and take a seat. 💛

You don't need a perfect week. You just need to take that first step.

✨ Fresh season.
✨ Fresh motivation.
✨ Fresh opportunity.

September could be your month. 🍂

💛 A little honest reflection from group last night...

It really got me thinking.

Did I actually weigh and measure everything that needed weighing and measuring this week?

Or was I busy and just dashed that milk into my coffee because, well... it was only a dash? 🙈

I have three coffees a day. Two different kinds of milk. A dash in each.

Surely that's alright?

I use yoghurt on my cereal. I reach for Free Foods. I cook from scratch. I've been writing everything down.

I was ON IT.

Or so I thought.

And then I started thinking...

Did I write everything down?

Did some things just slip through because they were only a little bit?

Did I write it down but not actually put the value of that little slip there because it was only a small packet of Twiglets?

Because that wouldn't harm it... would it?

And this is where I've been really proud of myself this week.

Not because I've got it all right.

But because I've been able to sit with myself and actually look at it.

Not in a telling-off, judgemental way.

Not with shame.

But gently.

Kindly.

The way we would sit with a child when we know they've done something they shouldn't have done.

We don't scold them.

We don't make them feel rubbish about themselves.

We sit with them.

We help them understand what happened.

We help them see what they could do differently next time.

And then we let them know...

It's okay.

You know now.

Let's go again. ❤️

I've realised I've not really done this before.

I'm very good at cheering myself on at the end of the day because I've eaten my meals on plan, cooked from scratch, scanned something to check the SWIPS, made good choices...

But what about the little things?

The things that happen when life is busy.

And my life is VERY busy.

I'm so busy making sure everybody else's boxes are checked that I very rarely stop and check my own.

So I did.

And I found something.

I have two different milks that I use.
I will use ½ of each portion allowance .

For my morning Re:form Mocha, which is 4½ SWIPS, I prefer coconut milk. The one I use is within my Healthy Extra calcium allowance.

So this morning, I measured it.

I'm allowed 400ml, so I measured out 200ml.

Then there's my fresh-ground coffee, where I prefer green milk.

I'm allowed 250ml... and I've measured out 125ml to use.

And actually, when I looked at my usual “dash”, I realised something.

On the days when I've had more coffees, my allowance wouldn't have been enough.

That extra milk would have become extra SWIPS.

And I hadn't been counting it.

Now, going over very slightly on one or two days isn't the end of the world.

But doing it every day?

That could make a difference.

And I think that's what happened this week.

My SWIPS haven't been as accurately counted as I thought they were, and I think that may well have contributed to my very small gain.

Half a pound.

And if I'm completely honest, I wasn't okay with that when I stepped on the scales.

I thought I'd done everything right.

I'd been writing it down. I'd been making good choices. I'd been on plan.

So seeing that half-pound gain was disappointing.

But I'm okay with it now.

Because now I can see it.

I can see where I thought I was doing everything right, but actually there were little things slipping through.

And that's a very different feeling.

I'm not okay with gaining weight when my goal is to lose it.

But I am okay with looking at it honestly, without beating myself up, understanding what happened, and knowing what I can do differently next week.

And actually, I'm really proud of myself for that.

Because sometimes it's not the BIG things that make the difference.

Sometimes it's the little things we don't think count.

The dash.

The taste.

The “it's only a little bit”.

And this isn't about becoming obsessed with every tiny thing we put into our mouths.

It's about being honest with ourselves.

Kindly.

Gently.

Without judgement.

Because if we keep doing the same things but expect a different result, perhaps it's time to pause, get curious and try something differently.

And that's exactly what I'm doing.

No shame.

No judgement.

Just awareness.

Learn.

Grow.

And go again. 💛

After trying lots of different diets in the past, Donna wanted to find something that worked alongside real life. Through making manageable changes and getting support along the way, she lost an incredible 6st 2½lbs 🙌.

What I love most about her story isn't only the number on the scales. It's everything that came with it. Donna talks about feeling healthier, becoming fitter and enjoying a whole new lease of life. She now loves being active and spending quality time running around with her grandchildren ❤️.

If you've been thinking about starting your own journey, remember you don't have to do it alone ❤️. Send me a message if you'd like to find out more about my Buntingford group.

Sometimes the biggest changes aren't measured on the scales ❤️. Having more confidence, more energy, feeling healthier, saying ‘yes’, feeling happier in yourself... those little moments often become the biggest victories of all 🙌! What's a victory you'd love to achieve 😊?

🎂 11 weeks until my birthday… and I'm putting myself back on the list.

Following on from my last post about there being no wagon, just choices…

I've been thinking about my own choices.

Mum passed away earlier this year. At the same time, I took on more responsibility with Slimming World, alongside home educating my children, running a household and all the usual juggling that comes with being a mum.

And somewhere along the way, I put myself on the dusty shelf.

My weight has gone up and down with life. Some weeks I've had amazing losses, other weeks I've struggled, and sometimes I've gained.
But I've stopped and taken a breath.

And asked myself:
Where was I?
Where am I now?
And where do I want to be?

I don't need to do more.
I need to go back to the simple things I already know work.

Good food.
Moving my body.
Planning.
Writing things down.
Taking it one meal, one day and one week at a time.

So this morning, after months of saying “I'll start next week”, I finally opened my 12 Weeks of Sensational Success book. ❤️
I've given it a purpose.

Last night I weighed in expecting a gain…
I stayed the same. 🙌
That little boost was just what I needed.
But it also reminded me of something really important…
We don't have to do this alone.
I think stepping away from group was one of the biggest mistakes I made.

Sometimes you need to get close to the fire. 🔥
Surround yourself with people who understand. Link arms with people walking the same path. Let yourself be supported — and support others in return.
So, if you're looking at your own journey and asking:
Where was I?
Where am I now?
Where do I want to be?
Maybe it's time to take that breath too.
Maybe it's time to get close to the fire.

💛 A little mindset thought...

I've had a bit of an aha moment recently.

I often say, "Just get back on the wagon," but I've realised something...

What if there is no wagon?

Because saying we need to get back on it can make it feel like we've somehow failed. And that's not what this journey is about.

There is no wagon.

There's just choice.

Every time we eat, we get another opportunity to choose. We can choose foods that nourish us, fuel our bodies and help us become healthier, stronger versions of ourselves. Or we might choose something that's all about comfort, celebration or simply because we fancy it.

Neither choice defines us.

The only thing that matters is the next choice.

Not Monday.
Not tomorrow.
Not after the weekend.

Just the next meal. The next snack. The next opportunity to ask ourselves, "Is this choice going to serve me and move me closer to where I want to be?"

We don't need to start again because we haven't failed.

There is no wagon.

There's just choice. ❤️

✨ If you've been waiting for the "right time" to start, this is your reminder that your next choice can be the one that changes everything.

It all counts. 💜
Today I've Food Optimised 100% and, instead of scrolling, I headed out for a few brisk laps around my estate.
No gym, no perfect plan — just movement.
There’s no right or wrong time when to move your body. A few laps of the garden, a quick walk, running up the stairs or dancing in the kitchen all count. If you’ve done something today that you weren’t doing yesterday, that’s an achievement worth celebrating. ✨

✨ One of the biggest mindset shifts on this journey… ✨

Be kind.
Just keep going 💛

I didn’t gain weight overnight.
And I’m learning that healthy, lasting change doesn’t happen overnight either.

For years, I’d approach weight loss with an “all or nothing” mindset.

I could stick to restrictive diets for a little while…
until life got stressful, emotions took over, or things didn’t go perfectly.

Then I’d end up right back where I started.

What I’m slowly learning now is that this journey is about so much more than just food.

It’s about habits.
Mindset.
Self-talk.
Stress.
Routine.
And learning how to take care of yourself even on the messy days.

Because perfection was never the answer for me.

Consistency, kindness, support, and simply not giving up?
That’s what’s changing things this time 🌺

And if any of this sounds like you…
if you’re tired of starting over, doing it alone, or feeling stuck in that all-or-nothing cycle…

You’d be so welcome at my group 💛

✨ WHAT I EAT IN A DAY ✨

Following Essentially Slimming World 🌺
And this is the best part… it never feels like a diet 🫶🏼

Real food. Family-friendly meals. Plenty of flavour. And meals that actually keep me full 🙌🏼

It looked like this 👇🏼
🌺 Hot-smoked salmon on toast
🌺 Greek-style vegetable couscous
🌺 Lemon & cumin chicken traybake
No skipping meals.
No tiny portions.
No “starting again Monday.”

Just learning how to enjoy food differently while still working towards feeling healthier, happier, and more confident 💛
This is exactly why I love this way of eating so much — it fits into real life ✨
