Breakthough sessions are the best 🤣

It’s funny but sometimes sad how often therapists are placed on a pedestal, as if we’ve somehow “arrived” at being fully healed, fully certain, fully figured out.

But part of being a humanistic therapist is exactly that: being human.

I’m not outside the experience of growth, change, grief, uncertainty or becoming. I’m in it too.

The work also isn’t about perfection.

It’s about meeting another person honestly, while both of us continue evolving in our own ways.

That’s the beauty of this work: two humans meeting in honesty, within a constant cycle of change.

there’s a common belief that we’re broken and that we need to be fixed.
but that’s not really how growth works.

Carl Rogers believed that we all have the capacity to grow but, sometimes we’re just placed in the wrong conditions.

think of yourself like a plant.

you wouldn’t expect it to thrive
without light or while watering it with dirty water.

so why expect that from yourself?

growing up in unhealthy or “broken” environments can shape us in ways that feel off, uneven, or stuck.

but that doesn’t mean you’re beyond growth.

give yourself the right conditions such as space, patience and compassion- you can begin to grow again!

maybe even bloom in ways you never got the chance to before 🌸

The fool 🤓

What would it be like to embrace the fool within us?

To allow ourselves to be that little bit more playful, cheeky and more free? Allowing ourselves take the leap, trip up and perhaps fall in the mud.

To embrace the fool within is to loosen the grip of perfection, to soften the fear of judgment, and to remember what it felt like to try without needing to succeed. It’s in that messy, uncertain, and alive state where growth quietly unfolds.

There is a kind of freedom in not needing to have all the answers. In letting curiosity lead instead of control. In laughing at yourself when things don’t go to plan, and choosing to keep going anyway!

The fool doesn’t rush to the destination. They trust the unfolding. They find wonder in the unknown, and find meaning in the journey itself.

Embracing the fall doesn’t weaken you.

It reminds you that you were never fragile to begin with.

Do you ever feel like you’re constantly putting on a happy face, even when you’re exhausted inside?

That feeling of having to smile, agree, or “keep it together” can sometimes come from people-pleasing- trying to meet everyone else’s expectations while your own needs quietly get pushed aside.

It’s okay to notice it.
It’s okay to step away when you need to.
It’s okay to put boundaries in place to protect your energy.

You don’t have to carry it all alone.

Healing begins with small, gentle moments where you let yourself truly be.
You are allowed to slow down, to feel, and to just be you!
