When we think about perimenopause, we often focus on hormones. And while hormonal changes are an important part of the picture, they aren't the full story.
Your nervous system is adapting too.
You might notice:
πΈοΈ you feel more easily overwhelmed
πΈοΈ changes in how you respond to stress
πΈοΈ your sleep is lighter & more disrupted
πΈοΈ an anxious tummy or feeling wired & tired
πΈοΈ needing more time to recover than you used to
Your brain, nervous system, metabolism, & stress responses are all responding to the hormonal shift.
So pushing through, eating less & exercising more doesn't always bring the results they once did.
This is a time to understand how your body is changing & looking beyond hormones alone. It means nourishing yourself with enough protein & fibre, prioritising sleep, managing stress, building strength & creating habits that help your nervous system feel supported.
The more you work with your body, the better you will feel. π
