SU***DE PREVENTION DAY 💜
There was a time when I felt overwhelmed.
I felt lonely.
I didn’t know how to talk about the struggles inside my mind.
I remember thinking…
“What if I just end it? Would my family understand then?”
Sometimes, when someone is in that much pain, they don't need to hear “Be strong.”
They don't need judgement.
They don't need someone to fix everything.
They need someone to ASK.
🙏 Ask. Ask again.
👂 Listen. Listen and keep listening.
💜 Give them patience.
🌱 Take it in baby steps — one minute, one hour at a time.
When someone is overwhelmed, patience and listening can be the biggest step of all.
You don't always have to have the right words.
Sometimes simply staying, listening and saying:
“I'm here. You don't have to go through this alone.”
can mean more than you will ever know.
If you are struggling today, please reach out to someone you trust or a professional support service. Your life matters. You matter. 💜

🎉 What a Day! Sakoon Summer Fest 2026 🎉

We are still taking in just how incredible our very first Sakoon Summer Fest was! 💜

On Sunday 30th August, over 500 people joined us at Summerlee Museum, Coatbridge, making this Sakoon Mind’s biggest and most diverse event to date.

What made the day so special wasn’t just the numbers — it was seeing Punjabi, Scottish, Polish, Chinese, South Asian and many other communities, cultures and generations coming together as one. ❤️

There was so much happening throughout the day — turban tying, dupatta draping, bindis, live multicultural entertainment, bouncy castles, climbing wall, face painting and glitter tattoos, alongside an amazing variety of local stalls and food vendors.

🏍️ A very special thank you to Sikh Motorcycle Club Scotland and its founder, Navjot Gosal, for being such a fantastic part of our Summer Fest. Their incredible motorcycles were one of the highlights of the day, with children and families stopping to see the bikes, take photographs and make some brilliant memories. The club brought such a strong sense of Punjabi and Sikh culture, community and pride to the festival.

🚒 We were also delighted to welcome the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, whose fire engine was another huge favourite with our children and families.

We were incredibly proud to give local small businesses and young entrepreneurs a platform too — from handcrafted jewellery, artisan chocolates, candles and fragrances to bakery treats, motivational gifts, pani puri and chaat, and even handmade scrunchies created by a talented 16-year-old entrepreneur. 🙌

But our favourite part was seeing people talking, laughing, learning about each other’s cultures and making memories together.

Sakoon Mind believes mental wellbeing is also about connection, belonging, friendship and feeling part of a community.

A huge thank you to our wonderful team — Co-Founders Taj Kooner & Sandip Kaur, and Event Coordinators Alison Karir, Dal Hayer, Boota Singh Toor, Sodhi Bagri & Navjot Gosal — and every volunteer, sponsor, partner, performer, stallholder and organisation who helped make this possible.

And most importantly, thank YOU to every single one of the 500+ people who came and supported us through the day❤️

As our journey continues, we’re now looking forward to taking Sakoon Mind further into Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Different cultures. Different backgrounds. One community. 🫶

💜 Sakoon means peace & together, let’s help everyone find their missing peace.
