Oh we do love to have some fun in the sun ☀️😎

Abermill has been busy prepping the garden (and some residents enjoying a little dip in the pool) in readiness for our open day tomorrow....

A massive thank you to some pupils from at cenydd school who came along and helped with donations of garden plants/flowers/pots....🏵️🌻🌸🌺🌷
They worked hard at weeding, planting and repainting the fence and grounds 👩🏼‍🎨🎨🖌️🫟
Some of these children joined us in the past for our intergenerational sessions 🥰

Don't forget to come along for more fun in the sun tomorrow from 2pm onwards 😎

Another eventful week at Abermill....

Apologies for being quiet we've had alot going on in preparation for our open day this coming week 🥳

2 birthday celebrations for our very own Queen Mrs M. Another with Mr. W...

One to one activities, cake decorating, movement to music as well as reminiscing..
And a lovely visit from the local young ladies who donated some lovely dog teddies 🥰

This community is by far the best 🧡🤍🧡

Hi all....

My name is Steph and I am the home manager at Abermill care home. Here's a little background about me 🙂
I started my career at Abermill at the age 18 as a care assistant and progressed in my career and became the home manager in December 2025. With nearly 20 years experience, making a difference in someone else's life has always been a passion of mine and although my job has been challenging at times it is also THE most rewarding job ever.
Some of the people we care for have completed this walk in the past and we have some that are eager to participate again...

Another fun day at Abermill doing something a little different this time...🎨🖌️👩🏼‍🎨🫟

Our residents have been getting creative by designing and making their own window stickers to brighten up our home. This enjoyable activity encouraged self-expression, creativity, and social interaction while providing a sense of achievement and pride in their work. 💯🙂

The finished designs have helped create a cheerful and welcoming environment for everyone to enjoy. 🌞🎨🪟🌺🌼

Well what another beautiful day for our lovely residents to enjoy.....

The gents had a fab afternoon with some board games/quizzes/dominos/snap and many more one to one sessions...
Getting their mind into motion 🧠🎲

Followed by enjoying more of Mr sunshine 🌞🍦🍻

And not forgetting Mr D's birthday celebrations with his much loved family and friends 🥳🎂

Another fun packed day at Abermill...

Today the residents enjoyed some different one to one sensory activities, our new fidget board had Mr W in questioning if he "still has it" as a jack of all trades when it comes to fixing/mending things 🧰🦾👩🏼‍🔧

Followed by an afternoon of baking cakes... Some classic sponge cakes made jam coconut sponge and sponge with white icing and rainbow sprinkles 🍰🧁

What a turn out for our first ever sports day!!

A massive massive thank you to the team at Abermill for hosting and all the hard work and effort out into this event...

To invite our fellow friends at Church View Care Home to attend and compete (for fun) was just the icing on the cake...

Great fun had by all and we have decided to make this an annual thing....
