E X C I T I N G E I G H T

The August Conscious Living column in highlights eight local initiatives worth noting and supporting, one of which happens to be my very own.

How many of these have you come across/ supported already? Are there any businesses that have been missed in this round-up?

Rest and distraction-free downtime is extremely important for productivity, restoration and recovery, and most of all for our overall well-being.

We’ve become so accustomed to filling all of our time that we sometimes forget that our days off no longer equate to time off.

Ensure that you are consciously choosing to do nothing this bank holiday weekend at some point or other as opposed to trying to “get things done”.

Not every extra day gained needs to be an opportunity for catching up, extending yourself or getting around to completing a task.

Put your feet up, everything else can wait. You deserve this s**t.

Whilst my internal struggle was at an all time high, those around me remained primarily unaware of what I was experiencing because to the outside world I appeared “well”.

At times when I would voice how I was feeling to professionals, or ask for help from loved ones, (no matter how clinical or woke) I was mostly met with that same sentiment.

“It’s weird because you look so well”, “your energy doesn’t reflect what you’re saying at all”, “I tend to think you’re okay because you always seem to just get on with it”.

As we learn to navigate our way through this most recent chapter of our lives, we find ourselves contemplating which new ways of living we would like to keep post-pandemic, and/ or which new thought-patterns or behaviours we would like to introduce.

Wherever each one of us fits in on this spectrum, it seems that we are each seeking some sort of betterness in one or more elements of our lives.

This month’s conscious living column considers small changes which can make a big impact on our mood, health and performance.

Some people live with their parents until they start a new chapter in their 40s

Some people are together for 20 years and aren’t married

Some people are together for 2 months and become pregnant

Some people own a house yet choose to rent the home they’re living in

Some people rent their homes forever, and never buy

Some people choose not to start a family.

Some people work part-time

Some people get divorced and remain best friends

Some people get married in their 20s and divorced in their 30s

Some people live alone for the most part of their lives and marry at 70.

Some people remain celibate their entire lives.

Some people move out in their 20s and return to their family home in their 40s

Some people are able to have children yet choose to adopt

Some people don’t follow the graduation —> engagement —> new home —> wedding —> family route. And some people do. Neither is better or worse. The only “normal” thing is that people are different, as are their paths. Let’s not only accept, but “normalise” our differences.

Double tap of you agree 👍🏾👍🏾

“Much of our modern medicine and current way of living focuses on targeting and resolving the symptoms rather than healing the root cause. When we try to heal things in this way we can end up going around in circles, creating the same patterns over and over as the energetic template holding it in place is still active.”

In this article, Guest Writer Lauren Love explains the importance of finding the root cause for dis-ease and disturbance, along with how to heal our mind, body and spirit at a core level. She shares her insights on The Akashic records and how they can be used to help transform our lives.
