Your GP is on your side – please help protect local GP services

General practice is under increasing pressure, and GP surgeries need the right level of funding to continue providing safe, accessible care for patients and their families.

According to the BMA, nearly 20% of GP surgeries have disappeared since 2015.

The BMA is asking patients to support its “GPs Are on Your Side” campaign and sign the petition calling for greater investment in general practice.

Please add your voice and help protect GP services for you, your family and your community.

Over Surgery will hold its winter flu vaccination clinics on Thursday 1st October and Tuesday 6th Oct 2026.

Eligible patients will receive an SMS text message invitation. Book directly using the unique link provided in the text message.

With the extreme temperatures we are currently experiencing please take care and follow Governmental advice including wearing sun screen, a hat and light clothes, having cold food and drinks and avoiding alcohol. Keep your living space cool by closing windows and curtains in the day and opening them at night when the temperature drops.

Heat exhaustion does not usually need medical help if you can cool down within 30 minutes. If it turns into heatstroke, it needs to be treated as an emergency.

Please check in on any family, friends or neighbours who may be susceptible to these higher temperatures.
