🏰❤️ Paxton's Tower & Three Incredible Castles All Within 10 Miles of Each Other! ❤️🏰

Sometimes the best adventures are the ones you never planned. 🚶‍♀️✨

Paxton's Tower had been on my list for a while, but I only discovered it by chance while exploring Dinefwr Castle earlier in the day.

I spotted this huge tower standing proudly on the hillside in the distance and immediately thought, "What's that?" 🤔🏰

A quick look on Google Maps and there was absolutely no way I was driving all the way to Carmarthenshire and not going to see it for myself! 🚗💨

And wow... the photos and videos really don't do it justice. 😍

As you get closer, the sheer size of Paxton's Tower is incredible. It dominates the landscape and can be seen for miles across the beautiful Tywi Valley. 🌳⛰️

What makes it even more fascinating is that it wasn't built as a castle, fortress or defensive tower. It was built over 200 years ago as a monument to Admiral Lord Nelson. Imagine having a giant tower built on a hill in your honour! ⚓🏰

The views from the top are absolutely spectacular. 👀✨ I wish I had the time to stay for sunset 🌇!

🎪🎪 The Take That Circus Live Tour 🎪🎪🎪

One word Spectacular 🤹🎪🤡 my first concert of 2026 !

Belinda Carlisle was phenomenal. At 67 and with nearly 50 years in music, she showed everyone exactly how it's done! 🎤🔥 An absolute icon and her voice still sounded amazing. ❤️⭐

The Script were brilliant. The Irish band have been together for around 25 years and Danny's voice gave me goosebumps. 🇮🇪🎶 Proper singalong moments but I need to remind myself I can't sing 😂

Then Take That... WOW! 🎤🎪

Formed in 1990, and 36 years later they're still filling stadiums and putting on world-class shows. ❤️🙌

I've been a proud Thatter ever since and I've seen Take That a few times over the years, but hands down this was the best show I've ever seen them do. 🔥🎡🎠

The atmosphere was unreal, the crowd were amazing and the whole circus theme/acts was fantastic. 🎪🎭✨

Three incredible acts. Over 100 years of music between them. One unforgettable night. 🎶❤️

🏰 Sometimes the best way to escape the modern world is to spend a day exploring South Wales' past 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🤘

This might not look like a fitness post, but it absolutely is.

My page started because I wanted to help midlife women get stronger through strength training, better nutrition and sustainable habits.

But health is so much more than protein shakes, dumbbells and calorie targets.

Today started with a fasted 2-mile walk, black coffee and collagen before heading out to explore some Welsh history.

By the end of the day I'd clocked up 22,570 steps, climbed hills, soaked up sunshine, breathed fresh air and filled my brain with stories from hundreds of years ago.

In a world of constant notifications, bad news and endless scrolling, there's something incredibly grounding about standing in places that have survived centuries.

As women, especially through peri-menopause and beyond, we often focus on what we should be eating and how we should be exercising.

But don't underestimate the power of:
☀️ Vitamin D 🚶‍♀️ Daily movement 🧠 Mental stimulation 🌿 Nature ❤️ Joy 😃 Curiosity 🏰 Adventure.

These things boost mood, reduce stress and provide the natural dopamine hit we're often looking for elsewhere.

Yes, strength training remains a priority. Yes, good nutrition still matters.

But so does having interests. So does exploring. So does filling your life with things that make you feel excited, curious and alive.

Today my body moved, my mind switched off from the modern world for a few hours, and my cup was completely filled.

Four Welsh landmarks. 22,570 steps. One very happy history geek. ❤️🏰☀️

📍 Pen y Fan Mountain 🌄 🏔️ 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 South Wales' highest peak and probably the best Pen y Fan climb I've done out of my 273,625 visits... 😂🏔️

Last night's sunset was something else. 🌅

The mountain was quiet, the paths weren't crowded, and for once there was no rush to get up and back down. Just time to stop, breathe, look around and properly take it all in.

After visiting its beautiful sister mountain, Llyn y Fan Fach, on Friday, I wasn't expecting Pen y Fan to top the weekend... but it did. ❤️

The colours across the Brecon Beacons were incredible, the light kept changing every few minutes, and standing on the summit watching the sun disappear behind the hills reminded me exactly why I love the outdoors so much.
No medals. No finish lines. No competition.

Just mountains, fresh air, movement and perspective.

These moments are worth more than any race entry to me. 🏃‍♀️🌄

Birthday dips & salty BIG waves 🌊🎂☀️

First time I’ve taken this beauty for a birthday ocean dip and I think she officially gets the obsession now 😂💙

Nothing beats fresh sea air, waves crashing (👀), laughter and making memories with good people.

Simple moments… but the ones you remember forever. ✨

Here’s to birthday adventures, stepping out of comfort zones and soaking up every second of life 🌅🥂
