Light isn’t just something we see — it’s something we feel. It steadies our circadian rhythm, softens stress responses, and creates a sense of emotional spaciousness.

In midlife, when sleep and energy can feel unpredictable, light becomes one of the gentlest tools we have.

Here are a few ways to invite more of June’s soft light into your days. Give yourself permission to do just one, and let it be enough:

🌤️ Permission to linger: Sit with your morning drink outdoors. Let the early light meet your eyes before your phone or your to-do list does.

🌤️ Permission to pause the evening rush: Step outside for just five minutes during the fading light. A brief evening light-walk shifts the entire nervous system out of "doing" mode.

🌤️ Permission to let go of urgency: June light moves slowly, and you can too. If you catch yourself rushing today, allow yourself to slow your physical pace by just 10%.

🌿 Pause wherever you are. Let your body settle — shoulders soft, jaw loose, breath unhurried. Then gently bring your attention to the world around you.

🌿 Notice one thing you can see: The deepening greens, the bright edges of new leaves, the shimmer of blossoms opening, or the way colour feels more alive at this time of year.

🌿 Notice one thing you can hear: Birds calling later into the evening, bees moving through flowers, the rustle of warm air through trees, or even the soft hum of a long summer day.

🌿 Notice one thing you can feel: The warmth of the air on your skin, a soft breeze, the texture beneath your hands, or simply the steady rise and fall of your breath.

🌿 And now, notice one thing you can smell: The sweetness of cut grass, the earthiness after rain, the scent of flowers carried on warm air, or the subtle green freshness that June seems to hold.

Take one slow breath. Let your system settle. That's better 🥰

After a long, hot week, it was good to step away from the busyness of life into a space of cool, deep rest and gentle recovery. We found a soft, spacious clearing to release tired minds and soothe weary bodies, allowing us to carry that feeling of calm and ease into the week ahead.

Phew it's been hot this week!

It's hard to sleep, think, or rest properly when it's so warm. It can leave us feeling drained and exhausted and running in survival mode.

So for this month’s Your Deep Pause session, we are focusing on deep rest, and recovery.

We’ll spend 45 minutes using relaxing techniques to help you drop the tension in your body, soothe your frazzled mind, and find a sense of cool, quiet calm.

If you’ve been feeling stretched, tired, or in need of a reset, this session is a beautiful way to end the month and step into June with more ease, clarity and confidence.

For 45 minutes, you’ll be guided into a level of rest that goes far deeper than meditating alone.

Together, we’ll quiet the noise, soften the body, and create the conditions for calm that lasts long after the session ends.

This month’s Deep Pause is coming up on Sunday 31st May, and if you’ve been craving a moment to breathe, soften and reconnect with yourself, this one is for you.

As the season shifts, many of us feel a natural pull toward brightness, confidence and gentle expansion — but it can be hard to access that feeling when your mind is busy and your body is tired.

Your Monthly Deep Pause is a guided journey into deep, restorative calm.

I actually listened to my own advice this weekend and took myself off on a solo trip to mid Wales for some much‑needed me time - and to indulge my love of photography, which has been very neglected lately.

I joined the wonderful Brad Carr at Woodhill Park Estate for an introduction to mindful nature photography. I was a little apprehensive beforehand: going on my own, feeling out of practice, and knowing my camera skills aren’t exactly great. But I needn’t have worried.

Brad’s patience, kindness and skill put me at ease straight away. I loved the encouragement to be present in nature, to really take in where we were and what was around us, to notice what we’re drawn to and give it a story.

I’ve come home calmer, refreshed and full of positive energy. It reminded me how good it feels to step away, slow down and reconnect with something you love.

I'm already planning my next creative adventure!
