Meet Charlotte one of our osteopaths at county border Osteopaths!
Charlotte has a keen interest and experience in treating expectant mothers!
Here is a little post she has done for us about osteopathy and pregnancy

“Osteopathy is safe during pregnancy and is often required.

The body changes so much during pregnancy especially within the musculo-skeletal system to adapt to the growing baby.

As the baby grows, your pelvis gets pulled forward, causing the arch in your lower back to also pull forward. This puts more pressure on the lower back joints and muscles to compensate this change in posture.

Additionally the upper back will stiffen to compensate for the growing bump and adjusting spinal curves.

Sciatica is very common in pregnancy..
Sciatica is when the sciatic nerve gets inflamed or impinged. A disc, vertebrae or muscle usually causes this, the pain/discomfort is usually one sided..

Pregnancy hormones will also make the ligaments more lax which can cause the muscles to overwork.

Treatment is altered accordingly to your bump size and what week of your pregnancy you are at.
We also prepare your body for the best labour by making sure your pelvis is correct and can help with your bodies recovery after the arrival of your new born baby”

Yassssss! Saturday morning appointments are available from December 11th with Charlotte! This is great for those of you that can’t get to us in the week! Starting at 8am means you can be back home and ready for the weekend to start without aches and pains holding you back! Remember for ALL of December new patients get a discount with Charlotte and if you refer a friend you get a discount too!

We have some exciting news! Over at county border osteopaths in Westerham we are being joined by a new Osteopath! The Lovely Charlotte will be joining the team in December 🥳🥳 Unfortunately the principle Osteopath Genieve will taking on new challenges outside the osteo world to following her calling in infant health. That means from January myself -Sian will become the principal Osteopath looking after the patients and running of the clinic! Exciting times! But sad times for Gen to be moving on! Bring on January 😁
