A little Cotswolds weekend dump 🤎🌿🐾
Country walks, Brandy living her absolute best life, lots of good food and time with my husband to be 🥹❤️
And honestly, this is such a big part of health for me too
I care a lot about what I eat and how I look after myself. At home, all our meals are home-cooked, I rarely buy sugary foods (unless Mike decides he wants snacky snacks and brings them home 🤣), and I genuinely love eating in a way that makes me feel good
But I also really love food - and a big part of our relationship is the fact we’re both foodies 🙊
I love having foodies meals with Mike, ordering what I actually fancy and having the dessert. I love sharing food with people. I love trying things. And sometimes that means sugar. Sometimes that means gluten. Sometimes it’s simply not the meal I’d make for myself at home.
Years ago, I found that much harder.
I could be so restrictive that eating something “off plan” felt like I’d ruined everything. And once I’d “ruined it”, I may as well just carry on or I restrict so much
Now, I can have a weekend like this, enjoy every bit of it, and come home without guilt, compensation or a dramatic Monday “restart”
I’m just… back to my normal life.
Home-cooked food, lots of plants, proper meals, moving my body and doing the things I know make me feel good.
And yes, after a weekend of richer food my body is currently asking me for another dessert 😂 but that doesn’t mean I need to turn the whole week into an extension of the weekend either!
I think one of the nicest things I’ve gained from working on my health over the years is actually this…being able to care about my body without being scared of food. I’ve got a healthy relationship with food now and I’ve found the pleasure that comes with food without the guilt
Health is a huge priority in my life (number 1 in fact I would say!)
But enjoying my life is too 💚
