Besides device-based treatments, we can also treat skin laxity with polynucleotides.

Polynucleotides aren't just for the face or under-eye area, they can also be used to improve skin quality on the neck, arms, knees and other areas where the skin has become thinner or less firm.

So how do they help with skin laxity?

Unlike fillers, polynucleotides don't add volume. Instead, they work by stimulating your skin's natural repair processes. They encourage fibroblasts which are the cells responsible for producing collagen and elastin to become more active, helping the skin gradually become stronger, firmer and more resilient.

They also improve skin hydration, support tissue regeneration and reduce inflammation, creating a healthier environment for long-term collagen remodelling.

Results develop gradually over several weeks, making polynucleotides an excellent choice for anyone looking to improve skin quality and address early skin laxity naturally.

In clinic, we consistently recommend ALLSKIN | MED, a medical-grade skincare brand we trust to deliver results. Its science-backed formulations and research-driven approach are what give us confidence in recommending the brand to our patients.

For hyperpigmentation, we recommend the Pigment Control Plan which involves a three-step approach:

✨ Correct Existing Pigmentation
Pigment Control Serum helps you achieve this with a concentrated, fast-absorbing formula that helps reduce melanin synthesis while exfoliating and renewing the skin to smooth texture, even skin tone, and reduce dark spots.

💊 Support Your Skin From Within
The Oral Capsules help you achieve this with food supplements formulated to help correct and prevent pigmentation associated with sun exposure.

🛡️ Protect Your Progress
Heliocare 360 Pigment Solution Fluid SPF50+ helps you achieve this by protecting your skin from daily UV exposure and the triggers that contribute to excess pigmentation, helping you maintain the results of your pigmentation treatment plan.

The recommended number of oral capsules will vary depending on the severity of your pigmentation and your individual treatment goals. That’s why a consultation is important, to ensure your treatment plan is both safe and effective for you.

Can we treat hyperpigmentation?
Yes, but only with your cooperation.

Hyperpigmentation is one of the most challenging skin concerns to treat. It requires the right strategy and, most importantly, commitment.

You can leave it to us to choose the right treatments for you. However, we can’t achieve the best results if you’re not putting in the effort at home with your skincare.

➡️ Why?
We can treat hyperpigmentation in the clinic with treatments such as microneedling, laser and chemical peels. However, these treatments mainly target the outer layers of the skin, while hyperpigmentation can sit deeper within the skin.

So, once you’ve had your in-clinic treatment, you still need to follow up with the right skincare at home to target the deeper layers of the skin.

This is a two-way approach and both need to work in parallel.

Combining in-clinic treatments with a consistent skincare routine at home will give you the best results and usually faster results than following only one route.

The more diligently you cooperate, the sooner we can help improve those dark spots.

I hate to break it to you, but your hyperpigmentation won’t go away in a short period of time.

I’m not saying this to discourage you, but to manage your expectations.

If you want your hyperpigmentation to improve, you need to be ready to commit to long-term care.

This is because hyperpigmentation sits deep within the skin. It didn’t appear overnight and it won’t disappear overnight either.

With the combination of the right in-clinic treatments and diligent at-home skincare, you may start to see some improvement in around 3 months. However, seeing the full results generally takes longer.

On top of that, depending on factors such as:
👉🏻 The severity of your pigmentation
👉🏻 Hormonal influences
👉🏻 Your level of environmental exposure
👉🏻 Your gender
your dark spots may take longer to fade.

So, if you’re on a journey to improve your hyperpigmentation, please prepare yourself to be patient and consistent.

July is hyperpigmentation awareness month. So let’s talk hyperpigmentation.

To easily break it down for you, there are 3 common types of hyperpigmentations.

1️⃣ Melasma
Patchy brown or grey-brown pigmentation, often triggered by hormones, sun exposure and heat.

2️⃣ Sun Spots
Flat dark spots caused by cumulative UV exposure over time.

3️⃣ Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH)
Dark marks left behind after inflammation such as acne, eczema or skin injuries.

One thing to be mindful of is that hyperpigmentation sits deep within the skin. Many environmental and behavioural factors influence the development of hyperpigmentation, and it won’t go away with just one treatment or in a short period of time.

Stay tune for how to treat hyperpigmentation and how long it takes to do so.
