What can sound healing help with?
1.Nervous System Regulation
The most immediate benefit of sound healing is its impact on the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS).
Parasympathetic Activation: Lower-frequency sounds stimulate the vagus nerve, which signals the body to lower cortisol (the stress hormone) and slow the heart rate.
Heart Rate Variability (HRV): Studies show that sound therapy can improve HRV, a key indicator of your body's ability to handle stress and recover from it.
2. Brainwave Entrainment
Your brain naturally synchronizes its electrical pulses to the rhythm of external sounds, a process called entrainment.
Alpha & Theta States: Sound healing helps the brain transition from the alert "Beta" state to "Alpha" (calm focus) or "Theta" (deep meditation/dream-like state).
Mental Clarity: By quieting the "Default Mode Network"—the part of the brain responsible for repetitive self-talk and rumination—it can clear mental "fog."
3. Physical Pain Management
Sound healing is increasingly used as a complementary treatment for chronic pain conditions like fibromyalgia and arthritis.
Vibroacoustic Effect: Because the human body is roughly 60% water, sound vibrations ripple through tissues and cells. This can ease muscle tension and improve circulation.
Endorphin Release: High-frequency sounds can trigger the release of endorphins, the body’s natural painkillers, providing temporary relief from physical discomfort.
4. Psychological & Emotional Health
A famous study involving Tibetan singing bowls found that participants reported significant decreases in tension, anger, fatigue, and depressed mood after just one session.
Emotional Release: Many people find that specific frequencies help "unblock" suppressed emotions, providing a safe space for catharsis.
Improved Sleep: By inducing the "Delta" brainwave state (associated with deep sleep), sound therapy is an effective non-pharmaceutical tool for treating insomnia.
I use a variety of healing instruments such as chakra tibetian singing bowls, a gong, drone flutes, drums, shells, rain stick, chimes and loshi chimes. Sound healing sessions are designed for you to relax the body and mind.
I offer these as one to one sessions and fo two groip monthly sessions, one as a sound healing and one as a meditation and sound healing.
