I am such a huge advocate for women’s health and I want to talk about something really important today.
We talk a lot about the things we can do to look after ourselves and they all matter so much.
❤️Hydration
❤️Protein and fibre at every meal
❤️Lots of micro nutrients
❤️Daily movement and steps
❤️Strength training
❤️Sleep and proper rest
❤️Self care and stress management
❤️Having the right people around us
All of it. Every single bit of it makes a difference. But here’s what I also want you to hear, don’t forget your hormones.🩷
Because you can be doing everything right and still feel absolutely dreadful if your hormones are out of balance. And so many women are walking around feeling exhausted, tearful, dizzy, anxious and unlike themselves and just putting up with it. Thinking it’s just part of getting older, like I was…Please don’t just push through.
I speak from very recent personal experience here.
Earlier this year I have felt so tired, so dizzy, so emotional and just not myself at all. My testosterone levels had completely plummeted and actually they were very low last year too and should have been addressed sooner.
Just over 2 weeks on testosterone gel and I feel like myself again. My energy is back, I feel like me. And I am so incredibly grateful. It’s absolutely insane the difference for me…
The brilliant Dr Louise Newson always says that hormones are vitally important as is sleep, nutrition, exercise, stress and the way we live our lives every day. We need to look at the full picture. And I couldn’t agree more.🙏 So if you’re feeling below par - tired, emotional, wired, dizzy, low, please get your hormones tested. All of them. Ostrogen, progesterone AND testosterone. Don’t let anyone fob you off. You deserve to feel well.
