We spend so much time trying to “get over it”, “be positive”, or “stop overthinking” that we forget emotions aren’t problems to solve.

They are messages.

Whether you’re feeling anxious, angry, sad, overwhelmed, or simply exhausted, your feelings are trying to tell you something about what matters to you, what you’ve experienced, or what you need.

You don’t have to fix everything today.

What if today, instead of trying to change how you feel, you simply allowed yourself to notice it with kindness?

🤍 What emotion have you been trying to push away lately?

If you’re finding it difficult to make sense of what you’re carrying, you don’t have to do it alone. If you’d like a safe, compassionate space to explore what’s going on for you, I’d be honoured to support you.

📩 Feel free to send me a message to book an online or telephone counselling session or to find out more.

✨ A gentle practice you might like to try…

When you notice your mind spiralling into thoughts that leave you feeling anxious, fearful or overwhelmed, see if you can gently interrupt the cycle.

Repeat to yourself:

“Everything is always working out for me. Good, better and best.”

Again and again.

Not because you’re trying to ignore difficult feelings or pretend everything is ok, but because sometimes our minds need something kinder to hold onto.

Our thoughts can gather momentum. The more we follow them, the stronger they often become. Offering your mind a compassionate phrase can create just enough space for the intensity to soften.

Will it change every situation? No.

But it might change how you move through the moment.

If this affirmation doesn’t resonate with you, choose one that feels true and grounding.

The goal isn’t to fight your thoughts.
It’s to gently guide your attention back to something that supports you. 🤍

Sometimes we learn to stay loyal to what is expected of us…
rather than what feels true in our heart.

We become skilled at adapting, pleasing, holding it all together.
And slowly, we can drift from what we actually love.

This message is a gentle reminder to return.

To notice what feels alive in you.
What brings softness, meaning, or warmth.
What your body leans towards when everything else gets quiet.

Loyalty to yourself doesn’t mean rejecting others.
It means not abandoning what matters to you in the process of caring for everyone else.

Reflection:
What do you feel quietly devoted to, even if you’ve been neglecting it?

Gentle invitation:
Today, let one small choice honour what you love.

My daughter took this photo for an art project, and it made me think about the different parts of ourselves that we all carry.

There’s the version of us people see on the outside… and then there are the quieter parts underneath that often go unnoticed.
The anxious part.
The part that doubts itself.
The part that longs for connection.
The part that wants to be left alone.
The part replaying conversations at 2am and overthinking everything.

As a counsellor, I truly believe every part of us deserves compassion. Even the parts we struggle with, judge, or try to hide.
So many people come into counselling feeling frustrated with themselves for not coping “better,” when often those parts of them developed for a reason.
Sometimes they were trying to protect us.
Sometimes they were trying to help us feel safe.
Sometimes they just wanted to be heard.

I think self-compassion begins when we stop asking, “What’s wrong with me?” and start asking, “What happened to me?” or “What might this part of me need?”

Where do you most doubt the value of what you give?

I’ve been sitting with this gently.

For me,
It’s in the quiet.
The sitting beside someone when there are no perfect words.
The steady listening.
The softening in my body so another person can feel safe in theirs.

The message I almost don’t send.
The reassurance that feels simple.
The consistency of compassionate words.

That’s where the doubt sometimes creeps back in for me.

Because sometimes I forget that what feels natural to us can feel life-giving to someone else.

There are nights I still wonder if I’m doing enough. I notice there’s still a tenderness there.

But what if the way we stay is enough?
What if the gentleness is the gift?
What if our regulated presence is the medicine?
What if the way we don’t turn away from someone’s pain is quietly changing everything?

We are so quick to measure ourselves by what can be seen.
And so slow to honour the invisible gift of the heart.

If you are someone who holds a lot…
Who thinks deeply…
Who cares in ways that aren’t always obvious…
Who shows up again and again, even when it feels small…
You may be underestimating yourself too.

So I’m asking this softly; for me, and maybe for you:

Where do you most doubt the value of what you give?

And can you let yourself consider, just for a moment,
that this might be the very place your love is most felt? 🤍

What being a therapist means too me..

It means presence.

It means creating a space where your body feels safe enough to soften… sometimes before your mind even understands why.

In Reiki, I’m not analysing you.
I’m not searching for solutions.
I’m not trying to change you.

I’m listening — with my hands, with my heart, with my nervous system.

To the places that feel tired.
To the places that feel guarded.
To the parts of you that have been holding so much for so long.

Being a therapist in this way means trusting that your body already knows how to heal when it feels supported. It means honouring the quiet intelligence within you. It means allowing energy to move gently, without force.

Sometimes there are tears.
Sometimes there’s stillness.
Sometimes there’s simply a deep exhale.

To me, this work is sacred because it reminds you that you don’t always have to figure it out.

You can simply be held.

And in that being held, something begins to shift. 🌿
