Most men don’t fall apart overnight.

They drift slowly into decline without even noticing it…..

A bit less movement.

A bit more sugar.

A bit later to bed.

A bit more stress.

They repeat that daily, and before they know it…..

Energy drops.

Belly grows.

S*x drive fades.

Health declines.

But.

Know this:

It works both ways…..

Walk more.

Lift something heavy.

Eat real food.

Get sunlight.

Stretch.

Meditate.

Sleep properly.

Do THAT daily… and you rebuild the man you used to be.

There’s nothing complicated about it.

You just need to do a few simple things consistently.

Choose your direction.

Don’t let the old man in.

This is how we train on a Monday morning in The Primal Health Movement.

Our weekly HIIT session.

20 seconds all-out effort.

1 minute full recovery.

Repeat.

Why?

Because this is what the human body was built for.

* Short bursts of maximum intensity

* Followed by proper recovery

* Done with intent and effort

This isn’t about “burning calories.”

This is about:

* Building a stronger heart

* Triggering powerful fat-burning hormones

* Training your body to perform at its peak

Most people never push hard enough to get real results.

This fixes that.

Go all in… then earn your rest.

That’s the standard.

One HIIT session per week is all that’s required 👍

I’ve been running my new training programme through AI and asking for honest assessments of the results it is likely to achieve for men aged 40 plus.

This is the verdict (see images below).

And I’m very happy with it (obviously).

So.

My inaugural 28 day programme starts on Monday.

There are still spaces.

There’s absolutely no charge.

FYI

The programme is all about removing sugars, refined carbohydrates, and processed crap from your diet….

…..replacing them with natural whole foods…..

…..and combining that with some moderate but consistent exercise, stress management, sunlight, and good sleep.

In memory of my dad, and to celebrate my 49th birthday, I’ve decided to do something a bit special.

Starting this coming Monday 20th April (sorry, a bit short notice, but you’ll just have to roll with it)…..

…..I’m going to be running (COMPLETELY FREE OF CHARGE), a 28 Day Health and Wellness Programme for men.

The ‘Primal Protocol 2.0’ 28 Day Challenge!💪 🥩

(Women will be more than welcome if they don’t mind a bit of swearing and a laddish environment)

Let me be clear on what this is, and who it’s for.

The aim of the programme will be to teach men about achieving a high level of physical and mental HEALTH.

And I’ve deliberately used the word HEALTH, as opposed to FITNESS.

This will be all about getting men super super HEALTHY, not necessarily super super FIT - because they are two VERY DIFFERENT THINGS.

For example…..

If you want to be able to play football with your kids/grandkids - this is for you.

If you want to lose your belly, love handles, and man b***s - this is for you.

If you want to start filling out your tshirt a bit (in the RIGHT places!) - this is for you.

If you want to be able to carry your wife up to the bedroom on a Saturday night - this is for you (you might need to get the wife on the programme also!)

If you want to elevate your mood and energy, and lower your stress levels and start sleeping better - this is for you.

If you want to learn how to look after your body, brain, and heart properly - this is for you.

If you want to learn how to MINIMISE YOUR DISEASE RISK (cancer, heart disease, cognitive decline) as you get older - this is for you.

Listen - if you’re a serious/competitive athlete/sportsman, into Hyrox or Cross Fit, want to be a Royal Marine, or get on the front cover of Men’s Health - this WON’T be what you’re looking for.

So.

A little bit more detail…..

Nutrition:

I WILL NOT be asking you to ‘go carnivore’, or follow any other kind of very restrictive ketogenic diet.

HOWEVER.

I WILL be asking you to ‘go paleo’ - which is cutting all the processed and sugary s**t out of your diet, and just eating natural, whole, single ingredient foods.

Exercise:

NO BRUTAL WORKOUTS

If you can sprint on the spot as fast as you can for 15 seconds (even if it’s a very poor effort to start with!)…..

…..rest for 1 minute…..

….do it again……

….and then repeat for 6 times IN TOTAL……

…..and do this JUST ONCE PER WEEK…..

…..then that’s about as hard as it gets!

The rest of the programme is just about getting out walking, weighted walking, jogging if you want to, and a couple of steady strength sessions per week.

As well as the nutrition and exercise, I’ll be introducing you to the benefits of:

1. Stretching

2. Meditating

3. Going to bed earlier.

And that’s about it.

That’s all I’m asking you to commit to.

Just 5 simple little habit changes over 28 days that, i promise you, will have a massive positive impact on your health and wellbeing.

Most men think decline is just part of getting older.

Low energy.

Belly fat.

Aching joints.

Low libido.

Brain fog.

They think it’s normal.

It’s not.

It’s a lifestyle problem.

Here’s what’s actually happening:

Your body is being pushed into a constant state of low-grade inflammation.

And that inflammation is the root of nearly every chronic disease:

Most men don’t just start to fall apart in their 40s…

They decide to.

Not consciously.

But SUBCONSCIOUSLY.

And that decision quietly shapes everything that follows.

Here’s the deal…..

At some point, a story creeps in:

“I’m getting older now.”

“Slowing down is normal.”

“A bit of weight gain is inevitable.”

“Energy drops… testosterone drops… that’s just life.”

It sounds harmless.

But it isn’t.

Because once that belief is accepted, your behaviour starts to align with it.

• You stop training

• You start cutting corners on food

• You drink more, move less

• You tolerate feeling tired, soft, stiff

Not because you have to…

But because you expect to.

However.

Know this:

THAT’S A SELF FULFILLING PROPHECY

Your mindset sets the standard.

Your behaviour meets it.

Your results confirm it.

And then you say:

“See… I told you this is what happens in your 40s.”

But here’s the truth that most people don’t want to hear:

Decline isn’t inevitable.

It’s decided.

Daily.

Through your habits.

There are men in their 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond who are:

• Lean

• Strong

• Energetic

• Mobile

• Clear-minded

• S*xually active

• Full of drive

Not because they’re “lucky”…

But because they refused to buy into the story.

They train.

They eat properly.

They get sunlight.

They move daily.

They prioritise sleep.

They manage stress.

They don’t let the old man in.

They act like men who expect to stay capable.

So they do.

Listen.

You don’t become old overnight.

You become old through repeated decisions that reinforce weakness…..

…..just like you become strong through repeated decisions that reinforce strength.

So the real question is:

What story are you living out?

Because whether you realise it or not…

You’re proving yourself right every single day👍.

It can be a pain in the arse - trying to train, whilst simultaneously answering 50 million questions and making sure that none of them get ran over - but I ❤️ it when my kids see me train!

Kids are like sponges at that age, and the importance of ‘self care’ will be burying itself in their little subconscious minds, and hopefully stay there for life ❤️

A VERY important lesson 😳

“If you want to get into the habit of doing something, you have to make that ‘thing’ easy to do when your motivation is low.”

For example…..

I’ve had a long fu***ng day today.

I was up at 0530.

I did 8 hours graft on a building site.

And I had a 2 hour drive at either end.

So.

Understandably.

I couldn’t really be arsed to train when I got home tonight.

Now.

(and this is the important bit)

If I’d have had to get changed, drive to the gym, beast myself for an hour plus, and then drive home again….

….it wouldn’t have happened…..

…..I’d have just thought ‘f**k that’.

HOWEVER.

As I’ve invested a few hundred quid in a home gym….

…..and just decided to put myself through a nice, steady, 25 minute
workout (instead of a beasting)……

…..I managed to find the motivation for that…

…..and the workout got done 💪💪💪

Flat Bench Press x 10
Squat x 10
High Plank x 1 minute
Pull Ups x 5

5 x through, with minimal rest, as and when needed.

So.

Bear it in mind.

Any time you’re trying to develop a habit….

…..fitness related or otherwise….

…..the easier it is to do when you’re tired, stressed, and short on time….

…..the far more likely it is to become a habit.

Common sense perhaps?

But common sense isn’t always common practice 😉

PRIMAL CODE – LAW #1: EAT LIKE THE APEX PREDATOR YOU ARE

Some people aren’t going to like this, but……

……Human Beings are just NOT designed to live on plants (or even eat too many of them!).

Human Beings are the result of millions of years of evolution as an apex carnivorous predator.

Your biology expects meat.

Not ultra-processed food.

Not sugar-laced “plant-based alternatives.”

But real, nutrient-dense animal meat - especially red, fatty meat.

Why?

Because meat delivers what your body actually runs on:

• Complete protein – every essential amino acid required to build and maintain muscle, repair tissue, support hormones, and keep you strong as you age.

• Vitamin B12 – critical for brain function, red blood cells, and energy production (you simply do not get this from plants).

• Heme iron – highly absorbable, essential for oxygen transport and performance.

• Creatine – fuels strength, power, and cognitive performance. Found naturally in meat, not plants.

• Carnosine – supports muscle function and reduces oxidative stress.

• Taurine – vital for heart health, nervous system function, and electrolyte balance.

Most people think exercise is just about looking better.

It’s not.

It’s also about protecting your brain.

When you move your body, especially through walking, resistance training, or steady cardio….

…..you stimulate the release of something called BDNF (Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor).

Think of BDNF as fertiliser for your brain.

It helps grow new brain cells, strengthens existing ones, and improves communication between them.

Over time, this reduces your risk of cognitive decline, Alzheimer’s, and dementia.

In simple terms:

Exercise doesn’t just add years to your life…

…..it adds life to your years.

Move daily…..

…..and you reduce your chances of Alzheimer’s/Dementia by 30-40%. 🧠 🧠 🧠
