A little personal update 💛

So we’ve been looking in to a few things for my lovely girl recently and today we found she does in fact have ulcers.

I think this is a perfect opportunity to say that as much as I adore massage and what it can do for our horses, it’s not a cure-all. Bodywork supports comfort, relaxation and ease of movement, but sometimes what a horse needs is veterinary care; and there’s no shame in that.

I strongly believe a multi-disciplinary approach is how we can do the best by our horses, and I’m glad we’ve got a plan supported by our wonderful vets to help Isla get back to her happiest & healthiest self.

Thank you to my lovely friend for the moral support today, and to our fabulous vets for taking such good care of Isla (and me to be honest) ♥️

A reminder for myself, but might also resonate with you going in to 2026 ♥️

Sometimes when things feel hard it helps to take stock of all the small things we’ve achieved. I don’t know about you, but sometimes I forget and move on too quickly when I’ve accomplished something - both in and out of the equestrian world.

This is particularly relevant for those of you maybe in rehab with your horse; things might feel slow, but it’s all the building blocks you’ve put in place previously that’s setting you on the right path to getting your horse back to their best selves - keep going! 💪

Merry Christmas from me and my best girl 🎄💖

A bit of a strange end to the year for us both, which I may talk about a bit more in the new year. All I’ll say for now is hold your loved ones close ❤️

Such a great reminder - a little quiet during a session means I am fully focused on your horses needs. As therapists we’re just tuning in to your horse to make sure they’re getting the absolute best from their treatment 🥰

Silence isn’t rudeness 🥹
As therapists, building trust and comfort with clients is so important, and that often starts with conversation. A friendly chat helps horses relax, owners feel involved, and creates the right atmosphere for a positive treatment session. We encourage this for our students when out working with clients.

BUT there’s also a fine line. During certain parts of a massage or rehabilitation session, complete focus and quiet are essential. These are the moments where feeling for subtle changes in muscle tone, fascial tension, or responses from the horse that require full concentration.

Silence isn’t rudeness, it’s respect for the horse and the work being done. It’s where we tune in and let the horse’s body tell us what it needs.

So, if you ever notice things go a little quiet during your horse’s session, know that it’s not because the therapist zoned out, it’s because they are fully tuned in 🙌

Finding that balance between connection and concentration is part of what makes each session so unique, and so effective.

I’m delighted to share that I am now qualified in Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT)! 🎉

This non-invasive therapy uses specific wavelengths of light to help reduce inflammation, ease pain, and promote faster tissue repair — making it a fantastic complement to equine sports massage. It’s also especially beneficial for sensitive horses who can find physical manipulation challenging.

I can’t wait to start offering this gentle, effective therapy in my sessions! 💕

My best girl reminded me this week why I fell in love with equine massage in the first place 💕

She’s been carrying a little tension (well, quite a bit to be honest) — tight, twitchy muscles and just not quite herself. She’s recently been through a yard move, change of feed/forage & routine in quite a short time - a lot to deal with in one go.

After a couple of massage sessions, her muscles are already softer, more hydrated and supple, fasciculation reduced significantly, and that beautiful relaxation and comfort is on its way back.

It never ceases to amaze me how much difference these techniques make — not just to performance, but to comfort, connection, and wellbeing. There’s still a way to go to have her feeling back to her usual self but we’re on the way ❤️‍🩹

She’s the reason I started this journey, and moments like this remind me how special it is to be able to give back to the horse who has taught me so much. 🐴✨
