💚 Celebrating Our Volunteers at Charterhouse Coventry 💚

As part of Volunteers’ Week (1–7 June), we’re taking a moment to celebrate the incredible people who make such a special place.

Our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do, from welcoming visitors and sharing stories, to caring for our gardens and green spaces. Their passion, generosity and dedication help bring Charterhouse to life and ensure everyone who visits feels inspired and connected.

Volunteers’ Week is a UK-wide celebration that’s been recognising the impact of volunteers and we’re so proud to be part of it.

To each and every one of our volunteers, past and present: thank you. Your time and energy make a real difference

This Volunteers’ Week, we’re looking for kind, reliable women who could support our Development & Funding Officer with community fundraising and awareness activity 💜

This could include helping at local events, supporting stalls, collecting donations, attending small fundraisers, and representing Coventry Haven Women’s Aid in the community.

You would be supported initially, with the hope that over time our volunteers could help us respond to some of the community requests we receive; from staffing an information stall to collecting donated items or supporting fundraising activity.

Ideally, volunteers will be able to drive and have access to a vehicle, as the role may involve attending events, collecting donations or transporting small items.

This role would suit someone who is friendly, organised, confident speaking to people, and passionate about supporting women and children in Coventry who have been subjected to domestic abuse.

This volunteer opportunity is applicable to women only. The role is covered by a Genuine Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010. Successful applicants will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check before commencing volunteering.

Your time could help us build stronger community links, raise vital awareness, and support the fundraising that keeps specialist services available locally.

Interested in volunteering with us?

Please contact Jaime Richards: [email protected]

To everyone who has made a donation through our website, “thank you” 💜

Sometimes we receive donations quietly, and without consent we are unable to personally say thank you, but please know that every single gift is noticed, valued and appreciated.

Your support helps us provide food, toiletries, clothing, travel, children’s items, helpline support, advocacy and safe accommodation for women and children in Coventry who have been subjected to domestic abuse.

A donation is never “just” a donation, it can mean safety, dignity, kindness and hope at a time when someone needs it most.

Thank you for standing with Coventry Haven 💜

Some of the most important work at Coventry Haven happens quietly, behind the scenes.

- It is the support worker helping someone feel safe enough to talk.
- The advocate helping someone understand their options.
- The children’s worker helping a child feel heard.
- The helpline worker answering when someone feels alone.
- The team member sorting food, toiletries, clothes, appointments, forms, safety plans and practical support.

These moments may not always make headlines, but they change lives.

Every day, our staff see the impact of domestic abuse, and every day, they respond with care, skill and commitment.

To our team: thank you for the work you do, often under pressure, often unseen, but never unimportant 💜
