This is one of my favourite props to use in my antenatal classes.
PlayMobil characters showing parents how many people may be present for their Caesarean Section birth.
Everyone will introduce themselves, although they will be wearing hats and face masks.

Who’s who:
Birthing person holding the baby skin to skin, with their birth partner seated beside them.
Obstetricians 1 & 2: Either side of the table performing the surgery.
Scrub Nurse: Assists the obstetricians with their instruments.
Runner / Support Worker: Assists the theatre staff.
Midwife: Cares for the parents and their new baby.
Paediatrician: For baby’s well being.
Anaesthetist: Provides comfort (anaesthetic) & well being checks for the birthing person.
ODP (Operating Dept Practitioner): Assists the Anaesthetist.
Students: (Medical/Midwifery) Present to observe/assist under supervision & gain experience.

Hypnobirthing can be a powerful tool when preparing for a caesarean section.
The breathing techniques, guided relaxation & visualisation can reduce anxiety before, during, and after surgery.
In a surgical setting you can feel in control and connected and have a calm and positive birth experience.

You can can request;
• for the drape to be lowered.
• for music to be played or lowered sound levels especially at the time of birth.
• who announces the s*x of your baby.
• for optimal cord clamping (more placental blood to baby).
• who cuts the cord (closer to baby’s abdomen).
• skin to skin with your baby as soon as possible for at least an hour.
