I've spotted a few sleeping in flowers before, but I have never seen them hanging like that! 😄

Bumblebees are heavily insulated with thick fur and their activity drops drastically when UK temperatures rise above 28°C, and they stop flying entirely above 32°C.

If you see bees resting or looking sluggish in this heat, they are likely just trying to cool down and rest! Do not disturb them.

You can help them out by placing a shallow plant pot saucer filled with pebbles and water in a shady spot in your garden.
The pebbles give them a safe place to land and drink without the risk of drowning. 🐝💦
