United Response

United Response We support people with disabilities, autistic people and people with mental health needs to live the lives they choose. Welcome to our page.

United Response is a charity working across England and Wales that supports people with learning disabilities, mental health needs, physical disabilities and autism to take control of their lives. We do this in many different ways - from supporting people to live as independently as possible in their own homes to helping them access their community, get training and seek work opportunities. We also campaign with, and on behalf of, the people we support on the issues that affect their lives.

Last week, colleagues from across United Response came together for the launch of our partnership project with Gloriously Ordinary Lives, alongside members of our People's Forum, United Voice, and senior leaders.

The day was an opportunity to challenge the language often used in social care, and explore what it really means to live a gloriously ordinary life.

We're excited about this partnership and the conversations it will inspire as we continue shaping our future together.

The recent Supreme Court ruling on deprivation of liberty has raised serious concerns that important safeguards will be weakened.

We understand that people will be worried about what this means for people's rights and what these changes could mean.
