My ideal week vs my actual week 👇
Ideally, I’d like to be lifting weights 3–4 times a week.
Is that happening this week? Nope 🤣
And that’s because, like everyone else, I have to fit exercise around WORK and LIFE.
So this week looks like this:
💪 Monday: Triceps & abs dumbbell workout + Clubbercise
😴 Tuesday: Rest — at work alllll day
🍑 Wednesday: Lower body weights + SH’BAM
🏃♀️ Thursday: Interval run with Lilz
😴 Friday & Saturday: Rest — night shifts!
🧘♀️ Sunday: Mat Pilates + a walk (dogs optional depending on the heat 🤣)
Would I like another weights session in there? Yep.
Am I going to try and shoehorn one in when I’m working nights and should be sleeping? Absolutely not.
Because being active doesn’t have to mean smashing yourself in the gym every day.
This week I’ve got 2 strength sessions, 2 dance/cardio sessions, a run, Pilates and walking — alongside working full time.
That’s plenty.
And this is something I think we need to get better at, especially as we get older: stop judging our activity by what we think we “should” be doing.
Some weeks you’ll train more. Some weeks work, family, holidays, tiredness or just LIFE will mean you train less.
The important bit is that you don’t turn “I can’t do my perfect week” into “I’ll do nothing.”
Your plan needs to fit your life — not take it over. ❤️
