As Bruce Lee used to say "Be water my friend".
It's a universal concept.
Hard things break, soft things bend.
By practicing Yin Yoga, we explore what is hard and how we can soften.
Not forcing through, but by being flexible in our minds, by softening our responses.
We try to embody the properties of water.
Water can be still, it can become any object it fills.
Water is a magical substance. There's nothing like it on Earth. And it is what shapes our lives.
We're mostly made of water, (and empty space...but that's another story), and we can be the shape water takes while holding still and allowing the body to surrender.
The fascia is made of water ~70,75%
To hydrate fascia we use gravity, time and stillness.
While trying to explore the concept of softness and adaptability.
In Yin Yoga we train the body to let go and the mind to soften and tune inward.
