💚 A little Reiki update...

Just over a week ago, I shared that our family had experienced distant Reiki for the first time with the lovely Tàina from Layered Release, and I said I'd come back and share honestly how we got on.

It's been a BIG week.

There have been lots of tears, lots of conversations and some big emotions. One thing that really stood out was how much more open the conversations became. Questions, confusion and hurt around the children's early experiences and adoption journey came to the surface.

I'm not going to share the details because that's their story to own, but some of the conversations have been incredibly important but extremely difficult.

Things at home haven't suddenly become calm or easy either. Emotions are still very much heightened, and we're still navigating a lot.

But perhaps that's part of healing too.

It isn't always calm and peaceful. Sometimes things need to come to the surface before they can settle.

I don't know whether Reiki itself caused any of this, and I wouldn't claim that it did. But I do know that the experience seemed to create space for conversations that perhaps needed to happen.

Would I do it again? Absolutely. 💚

A huge thank you to Tàina at Layered Release for the warmth, kindness and care she showed our family. Some of what came through during the session felt incredibly relatable and gave us lots to reflect on.

Healing isn't linear. Sometimes it's messy, emotional and exhausting.

And sometimes, maybe, that's where the healing begins.
