SPF can be confusing so what do the number actually mean?

SPF stands for sun protection factor and measures how well a sunscreen protects your skin from UVB rays the main cause of sunburn.

SPF 15- blocks around 93% of UVB rays
SPF 30- blocks around 97%
SPF 50- blocks around 98%

No sunscreen will block 100%

Higher SPF still needs applying every 2hrs and after swimming or sweating it needs to be reapplied.

Most importantly, wear it everyday and wear enough of it!

UV exposure will contribute to premature ageing, pigmentation, collagen breakdown and skin cancer risk.

SPF should be considered as part of your skincare routine in the morning, not just for holidays or sunny days, your future skin will thank you.

Losing weight can change your body.
But it shouldn’t make you look tired, hollow, or older.

Weight loss journeys can be incredibly empowering but many people are surprised by the changes they notice in their face along the way.

As we lose facial fat and volume, the skin can sometimes appear thinner, looser, or less supported. Patients often tell me they feel healthier than ever… but don’t feel like themselves when they look in the mirror.
This is where treatments like Radiesse can play a role.

Radiesse works differently to traditional filler treatments. Rather than simply adding volume, it helps support the skin by stimulating your body’s own collagen production over time helping improve skin quality, structure, and firmness in a subtle, natural-looking way.

The goal is never to look “done.”
It’s to restore balance, support, and confidence while still looking like you.

Every face and every weight loss journey is different, which is why a full consultation is always the first step. Together we create a tailored treatment plan based on your concerns, anatomy, and goals.

Things patients say that instantly make me nervous an aesthetics nurse…

In a world where quick fixes, overfilled faces and trends are at the forefront of social media, natural aesthetics and patient safety matter more to me as a practitioner than ever.

These are some of the red flags I hear in clinic, but my job isn’t to sell treatments, it’s about guiding you safely, honestly and with evidence based treatments that will work for you and you concerns.

This means recommending treatments that are tailored to your face and skin, prioritising natural results over trends, protecting skin health and facial balance, saying no when something isn’t right and creating a safe, judgement free space for you.

Good aesthetic treatments will enhance who you are and work with your natural anatomy, not change who you are or distort.

Choosing the right clinic matters just as much as the treatment itself.

It’s busy and exhausting at times but I’m also incredibly grateful for everything even on the hard days.

Behind every post, treatment and reel is a lot of unseen work, late nights and more tabs open in my brain than a laptop can handle.

I continue to learn, grow and show up. And honestly, I wouldn’t change it. I’m grateful to all my patients trusting me and my friends and family understanding the madness and the “sorry I can’t make that” responses.

The best part of this job isn’t the treatments. It’s watching someone leave feeling more like themselves again.

Aesthetics is never just about skin for me.It’s about confidence, comfort, trust, and creating a space where people feel listened to without judgement.

Some patients come to me wanting to feel refreshed. Some want support after years of feeling unhappy in their skin. Some simply want an hour where they can switch off and be looked after.
And honestly? That part never gets old.

I genuinely love what I do not because of trends or transformations, but because of the people behind them. The conversations, the trust, the little moments when someone looks in the mirror and smiles differently.

My goal will always be natural, tailored treatments that help you feel like the best version of you never someone else.

Thank you for trusting me with your faces, your confidence, and sometimes your vulnerabilities too. It means more than you know.

A consultation is so much more than just deciding on a treatment.

This is a full assessment designed to understand you, your skin, your goals but in a safe and professional manner.

We will cover your concerns and desired outcomes, medical history and medications, skincare past and present, lifestyle, budget, suitability, risks, downtime and much more, but most importantly it’s personal to you.

Sometimes the best outcome will be doing nothing or waiting to improve your skin barrier. Ethical aesthetics means putting your safety and anatomy at the heart of what we do to ensure natural results.

There is no one size fits all approach and no pressure, just honest, evidence based advice and guidance all based around you.

Natural results start with the right plan.

This is not the treatment for people who want to look “done.”

For many patients, the goal isn’t to look different. It’s to look fresher, healthier, and more like themselves again.

Radiesse works differently to traditional filler by supporting collagen production and improving skin quality over time. The result is subtle, regenerative rejuvenation that focuses on firmness, structure and skin integrity rather than simply adding volume.

This treatment is ideal for patients wanting a refined, natural approach to ageing well.
Because good aesthetic work shouldn’t announce itself.
It should quietly restore confidence.

Consultation recommended book now or comment RADIESSE.

Aftercare is often overlooked but there are reasons we ask you to follow certain advice.

Reduce the risk of complications- infections, migration, burns, delayed healing time, excessive swelling and increased risk of bruising.

Protect the treatment- this helps the treatment to settle and will improve outcomes, longevity and symmetry.

Support the healing process- after disrupting skin and tissue they need time to recover, good hydration and diet will aid this recovery.

Minimise inflammation and irritation- some active ingredients will cause more damage to the skin post procedure. Alcohol, exercise, heat and friction will cause needless inflammation and a slower healing time.

Maintain professional standards- aftercare is part of safe clinical practice inline with proper documentation and consent processes outlined by our professional regulatory body.

Here’s where it all started…

I qualified from Bournemouth University in 2006 at just 21 years old, and my nursing journey has taken me through so many different roles over the years.

From HDU caring for head injury patients, rheumatology, diagnostics, endoscopy and outpatient clinics… to finding my dream role in General Practice, respiratory nursing, clinical trials, triage, leadership roles, and eventually aesthetic medicine.

Along the way there have been challenges, house moves, career changes, raising a family, and navigating the COVID pandemic alongside some truly incredible colleagues who became lifelong friends.

One of my proudest moments was finally pushing myself to complete my non-medical prescribing qualification after years of doubting whether I could do it.

Almost 20 years into nursing and I’m still learning, still growing, and still passionate about caring for people just in different ways now.

Recently I started a new chapter as Lead Respiratory Nurse while continuing to grow my career in medical aesthetics.

Looking back, I’m incredibly grateful for every role, every patient, and every person I’ve met along the way

Before you spend hundreds on in clinic treatments start here…

Professional skincare is one of the most important investments you can make for your skin and often the difference between maintaining results and constantly trying to correct concerns later. The hard work should be happening outside of the clinic room and doing 80% of the work.

The products I stock in clinic are chosen carefully for one reason: they’re evidence-based, results-driven, and designed to support real skin health.

Not every skin needs a 10 step routine or endless products. Most people simply need the right products for their skin type, concerns, and goals.

Whether your focus is pigmentation, ageing, acne, sensitivity or overall skin quality, consistent home care will always be the foundation of healthy skin.

Because treatments help… but what you do every day matters most.

Tailored skincare advice available in clinic in collaboration with Noon skincare and a skin analysis device to really see why is happening beyond the surface.
