Marcus Aurelius wrote:

“The best revenge is not to be like that.”

A remarkable idea.

When someone is dishonest, cruel, selfish, or unkind, the temptation is to respond in kind.

To strike back.
To make them feel what they made you feel.

But every act of retaliation carries a hidden cost.

You risk becoming shaped by the very thing that wounded you.

The higher path is not weakness.
It is discipline.

To remain generous in a world that can be harsh.
To remain honest when deception would be easier.
To remain kind without becoming naive.

The best revenge is not retaliation.

It is remaining uncorrupted by what hurt you.

You don’t have to earn rest.
You don’t have to finish the list first.
You don’t have to prove you’ve worked hard enough.
You don’t have to wait until you’ye done “enough” to deserve stillness.

Many of us carry an invisible belief that rest must be earned. That slowing down is something we do after the work is finished.

But what if the work is never finished?

What if lite will always offer one more task, one more responsibility, one more reason to postpone peace?

The nervous system was not designed to live in a constant state of striving. It needs moments of stillness, restoration, and recovery—not as a reward, but as a necessity.

You Can Let This Be Enough became important enough to me that it found its way into both a chapter in 100 Reflections on Life as it Is and a companion track on my album The Retreat.

Because the lesson is simple, but not always easy:
You do not have to constantly become more to be worthy of rest.
You do not have to justify every moment of stillness.
Sometimes the most healing thing you can do is stop.
Take a breath.
Look around.
And let this moment be enough.

The best revenge is not retaliation.
It is remaining uncorrupted by what hurt you.
Not allowing bitterness to become your personality.
Not allowing betrayal to turn you cold.
Not allowing someone else’s darkness to dictate your character.
Anyone can react.
Anyone can return pain for pain.
But there is something far more difficult in remaining grounded in your own values after disappointment, rejection, humiliation, or hurt.
To stay kind without becoming weak.
To stay open without becoming naive.
To stay honest without becoming hardened.
Because the deepest damage is not always what happened to you.
It is what happens within you afterwards.
The real victory is not in making them suffer.
It is in refusing to lose yourself in response to them.

A few years ago I began exploring a question that quietly changes everything:
What if your thoughts are not simply reactions to life... but biological instructions shaping the way your body experiences reality?
I’m honoured to have my article “Your Thoughts Are Not Just Your Thoughts” published in the latest edition of Wellbeing Magazine.
The piece explores how thoughts influence chemistry, perception, emotion, behaviour and ultimately the direction of our lives — through the lens of neuroscience, predictive processing, and the idea that the brain is constantly constructing our experience of reality from what it expects to find.
Not positive thinking.
Not pretending.
But understanding how perception itself is shaped.
Very gratetu to be included in such a beautitul publication.
If you pick up a copy, I’d love to know what resonates with you most.

Most people think writing is about self-expression.
It isn’t.
According to the research of James Pennebaker, expressive writing changes the body itself.

20 minutes a day.
4 consecutive days.

Participants who wrote honestly about difficult experiences showed:
• improved immune function
• lower cortisol
• reduced anxiety and depression
• fewer doctor visits
• faster recovery from illness

Not because the past changed.
Because the brain finally processed what had been left unfinished.
The body does not forget what the mind refuses to process.
Sometimes healing begins the moment an experience is finally given words.

I’ve written a new article exploring the science behind expressive writing, trauma, the nervous system, and why unwritten experiences stay active in the body.

Nothing you have is actually yours.
Not your body.
Not your relationships.
Not your success.
Not even your thoughts.
Everything is on loan.
And yet... we spend so much of life gripping.
Trying to hold things in place that were never meant to stay.
That’s where the tension comes from.
The fear.
The quiet anxiety underneath it all.
But what if nothing was ever yours to lose?
What if life isn’t something to possess but something to experience?
This shift changes everything.
Less control.
More presence.
Less fear.
More freedom.
The moment you stop trying to own life, you finally begin to feel it.
I’ve just written a new piece exploring this idea.
A gentle reminder about letting go, and what becomes possible when you do.

There is a moment... just before sleep... where everything softens.
This is where we begin.
Join me for a candlelit evening of Yoga Nidra and immersive sound — a space designed not to do anything to you, but to gently remove the conditions that keep you activated.
You’ll be guided into deep rest, while the resonance of gongs, bowls and chimes works with your body
- not your mind - allowing the nervous system to reset naturally.
No effort.
No performance.
Just lying down... and letting go.

“One of the most important parts of winning is being okay with losing.”
- Jack Nicklaus
Most people aren’t playing to win...they re playing not to lose.
And that changes everything.
When losing becomes unacceptable, your mind splits.
Part of you is acting...part of you is trying to avoid an outcome.
That tension shows up in your body, your decisions, your timing.
But the moment you make peace with the full range of possibilities -
including the ones you don’t want - something shifts.
Your attention becomes clean.
Undivided.
Present.
And ironically... you perform better.
Jack Nicklaus said one of the keys to winning was being okay with losing.
Not because he wanted to lose, but because he refused to be ruled by it.
This isn’t about not caring.
It’s about caring deeply... without needing the outcome to go your way.
That’s where freedom lives.
And that’s where your best work comes from.
I’ve written a new piece on this in Substack: The Freedom to Lose

Most people are waiting for life to get better...
before they allow themselves to feel okay.
“When this changes... then I’ll relax.”
“When that happens... then I’ll be happy.”
But in doing that, we create a quiet resistance to the present moment.
And that resistance is what we feel as stress.
Nothing outside has to change for your experience of life to change.
The moment you stop fighting what is... something softens.
You breathe differently.
You see differently.
You feel differently
Not because life became perfect— but because you’re no longer in conflict with it.
This isn’t about giving up on your goals.
It’s about not needing lite to be difterent in order to teel okay.
From that place...
you can create, act, and move forward with far more clarity and ease.
If this resonates, I’ve just written a new piece on Substack:
“The Illusion of Somewhere Else”

New dates are now live.

Over the coming months, I’ll be holding a series of experiences designed to help you slow down, reset, and reconnect.

Sound Baths
Yoga Nidra & Sound Baths
Candlelit Evening Yoga Nidra & Sound Baths
Day Retreats

Each one is different.
Not something to “achieve”…but a space to step out of the noise and return to yourself.

Come and experience the 60” Gravity Gong.
Felt as much as it is heard, its deep, low frequencies move through the body, guiding you into a state of profound stillness.

The sound baths work with the body, not the mind.
The yoga nidra guides you into deep rest.
The day retreats give you time, something most of us are missing.

And the evening candlelit sessions…
a chance to close the day gently, in stillness.

If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, tired, or simply in need of a reset…this is your invitation.

Come as you are.
