So yesterday marked another day for spreading awareness for Epilepsy. I am so pleased that this isn't just one day in the year but many.

Also yesterday we saw representation on our screens and in my opinion the first time I have seen it done so well.

Normally when we see Epilepsy and seizures on TV it is just straight up Tonic Clonic episodes. But last night we saw absent seizures happening.... How many of you would have recognised that that was what was happening?

This poor young man is representing many, just starting out learning to drive, he will now not be able to, he will be dealing with the fear that comes with epilepsy but also the grief of the things he can no longer do.

Well done BBC EastEnders for highlighting awareness.

Hello everyone, it's been a wee while since our last post. We had a well deserved family holiday over Christmas and now 2026 is truly underway.

My last post was Rachel being done with 1 of her medications.... The Clobazam is now well and truly out of Rachel's system and we are still seizure free!!! 🎊🎉
It's also amazing to see the difference in Rachel, she is more sociable, her speech is just coming along amazing and her overall awareness of herself/body and surroundings has made vast improvements.

The next step now will be another MRI and EEG. The MRI to check for the left over lesion and to make sure there is no tumour growth. The EEG to check for those pesky abnormal brainwaves.
My hope is that these all come back with good news as in March Rachel will be 2 years seizure free!!! 2 years is normally when last medication can be weaned... Slowly.... To see if the person can lead a drug free life. This is the next step hopefully for Rachel.

We don't know what the future holds but for now we will just look to the next few months.

May your 2026 be full of joy 🙏💜💜💜
And a little Rachel photo dump 💜💜💜

And just like that bye bye Clobazam! One medication down, one to go.You are smashing it Rachel 💜💜💜💜

Purple day at school today for Epilepsy Awareness Month. Can you believe Rachel is over a year and a half seizure free!! And next week Rachel will finally be finished with her main medication. Hopefully in the new year we can start reducing the last medication.

So with 62 votes watch this space....lots of legal things to do now but hopefully by the new year R.A.C.H.E.L will be up and running.
Offering educational and seizure first aid workshops in schools across NI for now and hopefully expand into the whole of Ireland.
Once funds start to come in I would like to be able to offer epilepsy monitors to the whole island of Ireland too.
Thank you for taking the time to help pick a name for our foundation 💜💜💜
