Our Ingredients - Our Planet

Being able to trace our ingredients and know the stories and communities they impact, can be a really powerful tool to us. Not only can we positively impact our planet but our social circles and brand identify as well.

Responsible ingredient sourcing:
Sourcing ingredients responsibly has always been important to us and we’re working hard to improve further.
We’re working on transparency and traceability across all raw materials, with a focus on those ingredients that have particular social or environmental concerns. We have pledged that our critical supply chains for palm oil, mica, paper, alcohol, soy and cotton will be fully traceable and/or certified by 2025.

We’re tackling this in partnership with organisations such as Responsible Mica Initiative (RMI), which works to strengthen local health, education and women’s empowerment in mica communities in India and Action for Sustainable Derivatives (ASD), a collaboration that tackles environmental and social issues relating to palm oil and palm derivative supply chains. Projects include ASD’s Respect in Palm, which supports women palm workers in Indonesia, who may face gender-based violence through workplace training.

Avon has partnered with Cotton made in Africa (CmiA) to enhance supply chain traceability and promote sustainable cotton sourcing. This collaboration aims to increase the use of CmiA-certified cotton in Avon's products, including nightwear, as part of its broader sustainability efforts. CmiA is an internationally recognized standard for sustainably produced cotton from Africa.
