Pilates Retreat in Dénia, Spain 2-5 October 2026

Just 3 more spaces to fill!

It's only a small retreat, just for 6 people in total.

I love meeting new people, but if you're like me and worry that you're going to feel 'trapped' with people you don't know, then don't. One of the reasons I chose this villa is because there are private balconies, large back patio, side terraces, and plenty of space around the pool, so you don't have to hide away in your room - it'll be easy to find a quiet space to relax and read a book or sip a glass of wine!

And in between our pilates sessions, it's totally optional as to whether you join us to visit Dénia town / or a local market, or stay behind for some 'me time'.

This place is calming for the soul. You'll love it.

Saturday 9.30 am Pilates Class at Dulwich & Sydenham Golf Club, off College Road

You don't have to be a golf club member to join.

The photo is of our Tuesday class (it's women's day at the club, so all the women are out on the golf course and all the men are indoors doing pilates!)

However, Lois actually teaches our Saturday class.

It's warm & inclusive. All abilities & bodies are catered for and looked after, in fact you'll be encouraged to work at a level that's right for you. But that's not to say you won't be challenged, just in a fun way - not taking ourselves too seriously, the time whizzes by! The class is kept small so Lois can help you with your movements.

You'll leave feeling & walking taller. It's a great way to start the weekend!

Pilates retreat in Dénia, Spain, 2-5 October 2026

Last April we did a retreat in the same location, same villa, and here's what Jennie thought:

Sophie's retreat in Denia was the most wonderful experience. From the moment we were met at the airport, we were so well looked after by the seemingly tireless Sophie who provided 5 days of absolute bliss"

We started the day with some pilates before breakfast and had another session early evening before dinner. In between guests could spend the time, as they wished....sitting by the pool with a book; sipping a glass of wine on a private terrace; taking a stroll in Dénia town; visiting the beach; checking out a local market...

The villa is up in hills, overlooked by the Montgó mountain, so if you're into loud music and bars at night, then this is not the place for you 😂 but if you're seeking tranquility, there's no better place for the soul.

Pilates Retreat in Dénia, Spain 2-5 October 2026

Ever been to Dénia? I love it. First saw it on Places in the Sun, which brought me to have a holiday here (around 7 years ago) and then 2 years ago I moved here!

Now I get the pleasure to show you around.

The retreat is not four days of solid Pilates. It's a morning session and an early evening session, with the rest of the day being entirely yours i.e. a sit by the pool, the market, a walk, a book on the terrace, good food, good company. Pilates bookends the day. It doesn't consume it.

So if you've done yoga for years and never quite got round to Pilates, you'll be completely fine. If you did a bit of Pilates pre-2020 and haven't been near a mat since, also fine. Genuinely, all you need is reasonable coordination and the ability to follow an instruction. I guide every movement, out loud, the whole way through. Nobody's expected to already know what they're doing. That's rather the point of me being there :-)

My website is confusing, I know, I need to do something about that! (putting it on my To Do list now!).

I'm offering all kinds of things in the UK, online, in Spain. How does all that work?

I'm Sophie. I built my business in Dulwich, UK, because I lived there all my life. In October 2024 though I decided to follow a life-long dream to live abroad, in Spain. However, I was really fond of my pilates groups, and I didn't want to leave them in the lurch, so I searched for some great teachers to carry on my work....to carry on the little pilates community that I'd built.

I now have a great team, made up of another Sophie, Pippa, Imogen, Lois and Alexia. They're all Body Control Pilates Association teachers and they're fabulous! They all have their different teaching styles, bringing their own personality to the class, but they all have a solid foundation of pilates knowledge and practical expertise.

I may be just a distant 'shadow' in the background, but I keep everything running smoothly. My teachers teach. I manage - handling all the administration that goes along with this business. You won't be dealing with AI, if you have any query, feedback, or request, there's me, a human, to help you with it.

Pilates Retreat in Dénia, Spain 2-5 October

Here's an example of a room and a bathroom in the villa that I've chosen for you.

We stayed here back in April and it seemed to go down well with everyone.

Everyone got a private room, but there is also a Twin Room which you could share with a friend / partner/ sibling, which helps with the cost.

There are two rooms which don't have en-suite, so you'd need to share a bathroom with one other person, but there's plenty of time to chill in between pilates sessions and visits, so you won't be fighting over 'shower hour'!!

If you'd like to take advantage of the Earlybird Discount which is 10% off the full price, then jump in quick and bagsy a spot before 15 August. The earlier you book, the more likely you get the room you want too.
