Healing with sound is something deeply primal. It begins before we’re born. Our first experience of rhythm and vibration is not only in the womb but in the genetic memory of our DNA. Simple instruments such as the drum can help us reconnect with that deeper part of ourselves, encouraging the nervous system to relax.
By bringing in other instruments, such Himalayan and crystal singing bowls among other things, we can work with both the body and the brain to support deeper states of relaxation.
I use a blend of instruments both voice and sound to gently soothe the body and invite a deep, spacious relaxation that allows for rest, refresh and to restore.
This weekend, 20th June any time between 12 until 4pm at the Kings Arms Hotel, Lockerbie, you’ll have the opportunity to experience sound as relaxation for yourself. Sessions will take place in the function room upstairs. You are welcome to drop in and explore a range of wellbeing practices throughout the event.
Mats, chairs, cushions and blankets will be provided to help you feel comfortable. You’re also very welcome to bring your own if you prefer. As the body relaxes, its temperature naturally drops slightly so staying warm and comfortable helps you settle more fully into the experience and feel supported throughout the session.
Whether you’re completely new to sound relaxation or familiar with it, this is an opportunity to pause, unwind and discover how sound can be a simple yet powerful tool for supporting your health and wellbeing.
