It has been inspired by all of you who have shown up weekly to you mat. Dedication and discipline to your practice takes strength ✨

Susan’s Weekly Roundup & Week Ahead.
Yoga: we focused on Thread the Needle variations alongside plenty of plank work. These movements strengthen the core, obliques, hips and shoulders whilst helping improve balance, stability and support for the lower back.

Pilates: this week stripped things back to basics with no props, focusing purely on bodyweight work and glute strength. Strong glutes play a huge role in posture, pelvic stability and reducing pressure through the hips, knees and lower back.

Hot Pilates: I also covered Hot Pilates again this week and between the 42°C heat, weights and the ball… it was definitely a strong class 🔥

I’ll update Friday to Sunday availability later in the week.

May has been an unusual month with spaces appearing in classes that are normally waitlisted, but that’s the reality of running a studio and of life in general. Not every week is a sell out and not every month follows the same pattern.

What matters most is continuing to create a welcoming space where people can move, breathe, switch off and feel at home.

Whether you’re completely new, returning after a break or one of our long-time regulars, you’re always welcome at Breathe 🤍

🌞 SATURDAY 🌞

My shifts at work have changed, rude I know 🙄So I am making more of an effort to do things that make me happy during my rest days:

Today has been a lovely day:

🪑 Covered Marks Strong Hatha this morning at FSC where we go right into our chairs, twists and dancers - thank you all for joining me (especially the special person who has come along to ALL THREE of my classes this week 🫶🏼👯‍♀️)

🥓 As per saturday routine: breakfast at Cafe Wynd where I had my usual bacon and hash brown sandwhich, forgetting that I have been ‘going vegetarian’ 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣

🌷 And then a really cute outing to New Droverhall Farm to pick my own tulips! How STUNNING is the field?!

💪🏼 I finished the day with a strength workout - did this make me happy??🫠Not at the time… but I sure was glad when I finished it!!! (sometimes we have to do things that we dont enjoy coz they are good for us or whatever… 🥲)

One of my absolute fave things about this studio is Michelle 🫶🏼
Michelle works full time, she is a mother, full time carer to her son, a yoga teacher and an all round hilarious and kind human being.
Every Tuesday before my class, and after hers, we get the quickest 10 min catch ups an no matter what has happened in my day she always makes me feel lighter! 🕊️🩷

Being a yoga teacher can sometimes feel a little lonely/over whelming, so the connections we make between classes with each other can often mean the world! 🧘🏻‍♀️🙏🏻🌞

This month has just FLOWN in.
I’ve been v quiet on here - but with good reason! I had the absolute joy of spending 10 days in Goa. 🌞
10 days immersing myself in culture, practicing and teaching yoga and connecting with a wonderful group of people.
A truly life affirming experience that I am very grateful for.

I was back on Tuesday eve (still jet lagged!) to our usual class and it was a ✨little✨ spicy! 🫣
Let’s keep that energy going 🩷

Unfortunately changes in the shift pattern of my job means teaching classes on weekends will be a lot more inconsistent 😔 so we have had to cancel our Sunday Pregnancy Class at breathe 💔

Thank you so much to all you mum-to-be’s for coming along to your mat & giving yourself time. It’s a privilege to be a teeny part in such a big journey 🙏🏻

WEEKLY ROUNDUP & WEEK AHEAD

Last week brought some of our lovely monthly moments at Breathe.

Justine hosted her first Hot Yin to a full class and very “warm” feedback 🔥 She’ll be back on 26/3 – if you love slow, deep, stretchy stillness in the heat, that’s your date.

Mairead guided our monthly Soundbath – always such a special space to land.
Next Soundbath: 12th April 🎶

In Yoga, we explored shoulder strength through Wild Thing and its variations. Strong, open, brave hearts.

And it was weights week in Pilates… which, as always, quietly turns up the intensity. Those small movements? Not so small when you add resistance.

Thank you to the 8 wonderful souls who joined me last night for our first Hot Yin Yoga together.
Yin is a special practice, it invites us to slow down and feel from the inside out - a rarity in the fast paced world we live in. Travelling inwards is not always easy, and it is not always comfortable but it is how we grow 🧠🧘🏻‍♀️

Our next monthly Hot Yin Yoga is on Thursday 26th March, 8pm.

✨ PREGNANCY YOGA ✨

Tomorrow at 3pm, I’m back in the studio for our pregnancy class 🤍

In this class we begin with the breath to settle in, we move through a floor sequence, and once we are up, we’re up! We move through a standing flow and then spend the final minutes resting in restorative poses ☯️
This class has been carefully created so that anyone from 14 weeks up until full term can practice!

Never done yoga? No problem! This is a space just for you to connect to your own strength and resilience - I’d love to see you there.
