How AMAZING IS SHE??
💛 MEMBER SPOTLIGHT 💛
When she rejoined Slimming World, she already knew the plan worked. Having previously lost between 2 and 3 stone on two separate occasions, she knew Food Optimising could help her achieve her goals.
After Covid, however, things had changed. Comfort eating, a little too much wine after a long day, and becoming less active had all taken their toll. She found herself at her heaviest weight and struggling with everyday activities.
"I knew I had to do something. My weight was affecting my ability to even walk comfortably."
Unlike previous journeys, she didn't set a weight loss target. Her goal was simple – to feel better, improve her health and regain control.
Fast forward to today and she has lost an incredible 🎉 7 stone 12lb 🎉 and is now less than a stone away from her target weight.
One of her biggest challenges has been learning not to let disappointing weeks derail her progress.
"My body has a mind of its own right now and doesn't always do what I expect, even when I've followed the plan. I've had to learn that this is part of my journey. Instead of getting frustrated, I remind myself how far I've come and that I can do it as long as I don't give up."
Her biggest achievement isn't just the weight she's lost – it's the perseverance she's gained.
In the past, she stopped attending group when she got close to target because she thought she knew what to do. This time is different.
"I've realised that staying connected to group helps keep those old habits from creeping back. When I reach target this time, I plan to stay there."
The changes in everyday life have been incredible too.
Walking, something she once dreaded because of breathlessness and discomfort, is now part of her daily routine.
"Now I deliberately park further away, walk during my lunch breaks and aim for at least 10,000 steps a day. It clears my head, gets me away from my desk and gives me a real sense of achievement."
Her favourite Slimming World treats include the Iceland Chicken Vindaloo with Slimming World Garlic & Coriander Naan and rice. And as for her favourite recipe? Diet Coke Chicken!
"I never fancied it until I won all the ingredients in a class raffle. I happened to have chicken planned for dinner that night, gave it a try and I've been hooked ever since!"
When asked how she feels now compared to when she started, her answer was simple:

Her advice to anyone thinking about joining?
"Slimming World has something for everyone. Everybody's journey is different and you can make it work for your own tastes and lifestyle. If it's not for you, at least you've given it a go."
And finally, who has helped her most?
"There are so many people – my encouraging husband and everyone in group. They share your highs and lows, give you ideas, support, laughs and sometimes even tears. That's what makes group so special."
What an amazing achievement so far. Less than a stone to target and proving every week that consistency, determination and support really do pay off. 💛
