How do you stay consistent with your workouts?
A question I get asked regularly…
And the answer is, I don’t always. I am not forever motivated or consistent and I don’t always hit all 3 of my workouts each week. I am not a machine and I am not perfect.
But I make sure I hit 3 as regularly as I can and at least 2 each week and I still show up for myself.
Because it helps ME feel better about ME. I do what I say I am going to do. I keep a promise to myself and continue to look after myself, my body and my mind. Building self-trust and an inner knowing of who I am and what I am capable of.
Cos lets be clear, little Emma had big dreams, and somewhere along the way she developed a limiting belief that she wasn’t enough, that she wasn’t capable. So now, I choose to take her by the hand and show her exactly what she can do. And I will do that forever more because I deserve nothing less than to prove to myself that I can be the best that I can be.
I hill that I am prepared to die on.
And every time I don’t do what I say I will, there’s that loop; that inner chatter, the negativity taking up space in that unfulfilled commitment I made to myself.
I don’t have time for that s**t.
I don’t want to feel shame and guilt. Women have had enough of that over the years.
I want a calm nervous system, I want to continue to build momentum for something bigger by completing those smaller tasks. By following through on the baby steps, so the giant leaps don’t feel so scary.
So I stay committed to that goal. For little me. For her. Because I deserve to show up for myself every damn day.
To build self-efficacy and believe I can handle things and act on my own behalf every day. I can tolerate discomfort and push through- cos let’s be honest, life is not all rosy rosy, peachy, peachy. (Continued in comments)
