Exploring how we sit in relationship to incontinence. This is one way we can have a positive impact on out pelvic health on a daily basis. I’m not saying never slouch (I love a slouch on the sofa!) but instead be aware and make conscious decisions in your posture .

One powerful way to@work with incontinence is looking at how you go to the loo. A happy bladder is a relaxed bladder, no hovering! The angle of your hips legs and pelvis is key too. As is taking your time, not rushing, and not going for ‘just in case ‘ p*e’s when you don’t really need to go, this can confuse the bladder.

For World Continence week I’m hopping on to talk about this. Today it’s urinary incontinence when we p*e ourselves, so so common, and so much we can do with this. Please don’t suffer in silence as I know a huge number of female folk don’t go to the doc for this, or don’t have the privilege to do so.

Incontinence is a common experience for us women regardless of our age or how we’ve given birth.
Yet it’s still such a taboo subject- we’re beginning to acknowledge the wee part, but what about the poo part! Very hidden in the shadows.
This week it’s World Continence Week, and in support I’m offering a 20% discount on my pelvic embodiment coaching.
You can find out more on me and how I work through my website - www.janedancey.com and I offer a free one hour call to have a chat and see how I can be of support and help to you.

If you book a call with me this week I will honour the discount regardless on when you start- I want you to make this decision from a place of ease not urgency (we don’t need more of that!).
You can find a booking link for these calls in my bio.

We have until June 23rd to let the government know that we want legislation to change on how companies list the chemicals that go into period products.
Many off the shelf period products contain a disgusting amount of poisonous substances, AND the va**na absorbs at a much higher level than the skin.
The fact that this legislation isn’t already in place is a reminder of the culture of misogyny that exists in so many layers of our society.

But we can push for this legislation - but act now as we’ve only got until June 23rd.
Link in bio for a very easy way to do this through the Women’s Environmental Network .
Please do this , even if you don’t use these products, do it for those who do.
And please share this widely. Many thanks.

A great day on the march in London. Joyful, peaceful solidarity, all ages and all walks of life coming together to call out hatred, racism and genocide.

Twice a year I do exam invigilating at my local University and this means I’m sitting down a lot all day, and I can really feel it in my body, especially hips, pelvis and lower back.

Our pelvises do not like sitting for prolonged times! It creates stagnation in the pelvic bowl and energetically it all has a tendency to go off-line -not great if you’ve got pelvis health issues but also not good in general to organ health and general bio-mechanical health of the whole body as the pelvis is so integral to whole body wellbeing.
It also affects us psychologically for when there is stagnancy in the pelvic bowl we become cut off to our root, our power, self-agency and creativity.

So here’s one of my micro practices that you can do anywhere - even for a minute will be beneficial, a little bit of movement is always better than no movement.

Let me know what you think!
And good luck to all who are sitting exams this month, exams suck!

Doing my bit to keep fascism out of my local area, UK folk please do get out there and vote! Every vote counts.

Every Monday and Thursday I run Somatic Yoga classes - a mix of somatic intuitive movement mixed with functional movement.
One to cultivate body relationship, intuition, intelligence and communication and the other to keep our bodies moving how they were created to do so and as an antidote to modern day living of restricted movement, sitting down, contraction and stress.
I mix in breathwork, visualisation, meditation and deep rest depending on what is arising in real time in my clients in front of me.
The content derives from my 20yrs teaching & exploring of yoga, somatic movement, embodiment coaching, nervous system work, female pelvis work, psychotherapy training, kinesiology....the list goes on as I'm forever a student with my head in a book or body on my mat !
These are small intimate community classes, maximum 6 people, friendly and inviting, accessible and inclusive. No requirement for a certain amount of flexibility or physical prowess.
We tend to the emotional body as we do the physical body, in these classes they are not separate.
Drop in prices vary from £14 to £15 and are less when block booking. Discounts available for single mum's.
Monday - Womens - 7-8:15pm
Thursday - Mixed - 9:15-10:15am
Please do come along, first class is £10
Booking essential.
