In recognition and support of seafarers worldwide, Veterans Dementia Support UK has signed the Merchant Navy Welfare Board’s ‘Seafarer Pledge.’ 👥🌊

The Seafarer Pledge is a commitment to recognise and respect the people who keep global trade moving but are too often overlooked. While existing frameworks focus on working conditions and legal protections, the Pledge fills a different gap – ensuring seafarers are properly valued, visible, and supported as people, both during their careers and beyond the ship.

It brings together organisations across maritime and wider society to acknowledge the professionalism, skill, and contribution of those at sea, and to take practical steps that make a real difference.

Great News this morning - for veterans living with Dementia in the Fareham and Whiteley area. New Dementia Support Group opening in the Autumn. We need to recruit volunteers and a leader first but a great result for support in a much needed area
