Skin and Hair conditions caused by Vitamin deficiency.

Vitamin A is essential for maintaining healthy epithelial tissues including the skin and hair follicles. Being deficient affects the skin and hairs condition making it dry, brittle and easy to break.

Riboflavin (Vitamin B2) is important for cellular growth, repair and maintenance. Deficiency often results in dermatitis, skin inflammation & irritation which can affect the scalp and its microbiome.

Niacin (Vitamin B3) is essential for energy production within the body and maintains healthy skin and the nervous system. A severe deficiency leads to a condition known as pellagra. This is characterised by dermatitis and reacts more with sun exposure and has a wide impact on the body, therefore scalp function.

Pyridoxine (Vitamin B6) plays a role in protein metabolism as well as the production of neurotransmitters. Protein metabolic values are required for hair growth.

Vitamin deficiencies can significantly affect the condition of the skin on your scalp and the hair because of skin condition. This leads to dryness, inflammation and keratinisation and in turn can result in poor hair growth, follicle miniaturisation and hair thinning.
