Perry Psychotherapy

Perry Psychotherapy Art therapy for children & young people online and in person. I offer psychodynamic art therapy primarily to children & young people but also work with adults.

My role is to help people express thoughts and feelings they may not be aware they have (often known as unconscious thoughts). Often these unconscious thoughts affect our mood and behaviour in ways that we aren't even aware of, and which may not always make sense to us. Through creative activities and play, art therapy can gently help people to explore these deeper feelings, helping them process e

motions, reduce anxiety, and gain a better sense of themself. Art therapy provides a safe and supportive space where they can express what's on their minds in a way that feels natural and comfortable. I am a fully qualified Art Psychotherapist registered member of BAAT (British Association of Art Therapists), HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) & ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office)

✨ A little insight into our Creative Coping Club this week! 🎨🪞

This week we focused on being kind to ourselves. The children decorated their own mirrors and learned about positive affirmations as part of their wellbeing and regulation toolkit. 💚

We then used our mirrors to practise saying kind things to ourselves, a simple way of encouraging positive self-talk and building confidence.

And then… it was time for some FREE PAINTING! 🎨🙌
The kids absolutely LOVED having the freedom to get messy, experiment and simply explore through art.

It’s so lovely to have a space where children can be themselves, get creative and explore their emotions without worrying about getting things “right”. 🌈

💚A little group update:
Our Creative Coping Club groups have now changed from a maximum of 6 children to 4 children. This allows us to create a calmer environment and ensure there is enough space, attention and support for each child.

📅 Booking in advance is recommended to avoid disappointment! Book via the website or link in bio

✨ A little look inside our recent therapeutic art groups… 🎨🌈

Over the last few weeks at Rainbow Rascals we’ve been exploring feelings, building confidence and learning practical coping strategies through creativity.

From creating worry monsters and rainbows of feelings, to making breathing wands, coping bracelets and sharing special moments in our Parent & Child Creative Wellbeing Group, every activity has been thoughtfully designed by a HCPC Registered Art Psychotherapist to support emotional wellbeing in a fun, engaging and creative way.

Art gives children a language when words feel difficult. Through making, playing and creating together, they can begin to understand their emotions, build resilience and develop skills they’ll take home with them.

💚🎨No artistic ability is needed—just curiosity and a willingness to create.

🌈 How wonderful are these rainbows?! 🌈

Created during last week’s Parent & Child Wellbeing Art Group at Rainbow Rascals, where we explored colour and feelings, practised rainbow breathing as a calming regulation tool, and enjoyed plenty of paint, pom-poms, glue, creativity and laughter. A beautiful reminder that wellbeing can be colourful, creative and fun! ✨

Parent and child groups run weekly on Fridays in July from 1:30-2:30pm book to avoid missing out (link in bio!)
