Join American Aufguss Master Sarah Spoto for a special Midsummer Aufguss Ritual ☀️ ♨️

As the longest day of the year gives way to the shortest night, join Sarah for a celebration of midsummer light and Finnish magic. Drawing on the ancient traditions of Finland, this Aufguss ritual weaves heat, steam, scent, and towel-waving into a shared sensory journey. Working with the aromas and sounds of a Finnish summer, the session explores themes of joy and light.

Sarah Spoto is an American Aufgussmaster, and the founder of Badii, a Swiss-inspired thermal bathing community. She recently competed in the 2026 US Aufguss Nationals with her very memorable Heated Rivalry-inspired performance and took home fourth place. Sarah also hosts a podcast called Badii Talk: Thermal Bathing & Sauna Culture where she dives deep into the global bathing world.

Our ‘Rewilding Thought’ session creatively challenges the idea that we are disconnected from nature when living within urban spaces.

As we practice Sauna, both of us seek to bring elements of ourselves into our rituals. We do that through a variety of techniques in the Sauna. Combining pieces of animistic thought, and Pirtis practice we will guide guests to question where this feeling of separation from nature that we all relate to comes from and how we, as modern day urban people, might ‘rewild’ that perception.

We will examine how stories shape the world we know, exploring the role of folk story in our cultural education and how childhood imagination might be a key to establishing a relationship with man-made creations.

The session will include the use of Pirtis (leaf whisking) and guide visualisations to help us explore these themes.

Both Eric & Katharine hold a Level 2 Bath Master qualification with the International Bathing Academy. Eric additionally holds a Masters in Outdoor Education, where his research specialised in Animism. Katharine holds a BA Acting from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. They have combined their backgrounds, qualifications and
interests to create unique and powerful this workshop.

We’re so excited to be bringing Black Bear sauna back to .festival this year 🔥

Last year was something really special. We met so many lovely people, shared some beautiful moments, and felt so welcomed. We can’t wait to be back at Errol Park, holding space for rest, warmth and connection across the weekend.

You’ll find us ready to bring the heat for festival goers who need a reset between all the magic.

Please note, you must have a Solas Festival ticket to book a sauna session. Sauna tickets are available via our website.

The bears are gathering 🐻🔥

For a limited time, Black Bear and Wandering Bear are heading down to Granton, joining Big and Little Bear on the seafront while we prepare our new home at Dalkeith.

If you book a community session on Sunday or Bank Holiday Monday (yes, we’re open 👀), you’ll get the chance to sauna with Black Bear alongside the rest of the clan.

From Thursday 28 May, Wandering Bear joins too, and all four will stay together by the sea until the end of June 🌊

A rare moment when the whole family comes together… come while they’re here 🤎

Meet Black Bear 🐻🖤

Meet the newest member of our family… a beautifully converted horse box.

She’ll make her debut next week, holding space for advanced training with Lithuanian sauna master Birutė exploring Plants & Sauna Immersion 🌿🔥 before stepping into her first public sessions at Soul Sessions at Granton.

From there, this bear wanders north to .festival in Perth, before finally returning home to 🌲

Huge thanks to for her beautiful hand-painted branding, giving Black Bear her identity, her personality will continue to grow over the coming weeks, exciting collaborations ahead✨

One more bear in the family… and she’s ready to roam.

Community is built one sauna at a time 🤍

Something really special has been growing in Granton…

What started as a simple idea, a weekly sauna club at the same time with the same people, has turned into a genuine community. Strangers meeting in the heat, sharing stories, slowing down together, and coming back week after week.

And it really works.

The Thursday 7.15pm Granton Sauna Club has taken it to another level. They recently organised their own sauna adventure to Oslo 🇳🇴

Fifteen saunas. Personalised towels. Even someone who had only just joined in the last block came along.
That’s the magic of it.

Starting out as strangers sitting side by side, and ending up as genuine friendship.

We talk a lot about community, but this is what it actually looks like.

Showing up, again and again, and letting something grow. 🌿🤍
