We have been celebrating Gardening Week here at Murrayfield Care Home with a lovely visit to our local community garden, and it was such a refreshing trip for everyone 💜

Our wonderful residents really enjoyed walking around, taking in all the greenery and seeing what was growing. There was plenty of interest as we picked some fresh vegetables together, already imagining them being turned into something delicious for our next meal 🌱🥕

It is always special seeing produce so fresh and full of life, and it sparked lots of chat about gardens from years gone by and favourite things to grow at home. Simple moments like this really do bring people together 💜

April didn’t feel like one big moment across our homes, but lots of smaller ones and that’s what made it so special 💜

There were Easter crafts, feasts, time spent outside as the weather picked up, and plenty of conversations sparked along the way. We also took time to recognise Autism Acceptance Week and Parkinson’s Awareness Week, creating space to learn, reflect and support one another.

St George’s Day brought a bit of fun and familiarity too, with simple touches that made people smile 🏴

It’s these everyday moments that shape life in our homes, not just the celebrations, but the time spent together in between.

We had such a fantastic day in our home with a lovely jazz session that brought everyone together 🎶💜

Our lovely residents gathered in the lounge, following along with a jazz music book and joining in with some well loved songs. There was a real buzz in the room, with smiles, toe tapping and a few sing along moments that had everyone feeling part of it 😊

It was such a warm, social afternoon, the kind where conversations flow easily and the music brings back memories. A truly feel good moment shared together.

From raising awareness during Nutrition and Hydration Week to enjoying the energy and fun of St Patrick’s Day, there has been something for everyone to take part in. We also proudly celebrated International Women’s Day, recognising the inspiring women within our communities, and marked Mother’s Day with thoughtful moments of love, gratitude, and reflection 🌷 🚺 🍎 🍀

Our home was filled with joy and togetherness as we came together to celebrate St Patrick’s Day in true festive spirit. From the moment the music began, residents were surrounded by the uplifting sounds of lively Irish tunes, creating a warm and cheerful atmosphere that brought smiles to every face 💜🎶

We had a truly wonderful time celebrating World Book Day at home! The lounge and residents’ rooms were filled with excitement and laughter as children from Meridian Water School came to visit 📚✨

The children shared delightful stories, and our residents listened with smiles, curiosity, and joy. Pages were turned, voices were shared, and every story brought a little sparkle to the room. It was heartwarming to see friendships blossom across generations and to witness the magic that stories can bring

Spending time together, listening, laughing, and sharing these moments reminded us all of the simple joy of a good story and the special connections it creates 📖💟
