Today, as part of Shaping Edmonton, London Cycling Club provided practical consultation and local cycling expertise to the Enfield Council team working on the Neighbourhood Improvements project, helping to inform plans to improve walking and cycling connections between Fore Street and Meridian Water.
As a community cycling organisation working directly with local residents, families, women, young people and everyday cyclists, we shared our on-the-ground experience of how people move around the area and where improvements are most needed.
Our discussion covered:
🚶 Safer and more accessible walking routes
🚲 Safer, better-connected cycling routes
🚦 Pedestrian crossings and safer crossing points
🛣️ Road markings and junction design
🚸 Clearer signs and wayfinding
👥 How local people use these streets and routes every day
We are happy to bring local knowledge and community voices into the design of walking and cycling improvements. We were pleased to share our experience and look forward to continuing to work with Enfield Council and local communities towards safer, healthier and better-connected neighbourhoods.
